I was wondering If any-one out there does double throws to have a bit of a brain pick as I've got just about as far as I can get, ie doubles to single cross coversion and back, under legs, round the back, cascades, flashes, and some I can't think of names for but, invole really high throws and that thing you do behind your back witch was proberly the 1st trick you learned. I could discribe some more but I think people would understand me less so I'm leaving this at that..

Just out of intrest has any-one tried shuffling manouves with stix? how did it go? Those not familier with juggling phrases it's simply the prosses of throwing both at the same time very fast at the oppisite hand. Kinda fun?

Shuffling with doubles = VERY DANGEROUS!

Or maybe that is just my shuffling skills. I think the whole effect of shuffling is lost with a the larger amounts of the staffs being visible during the exchange too, but thats just my opinion.

I think that's one reason why its not really done with clubs or devil sticks either, just doesn't look that good. Maybe...

been working on a thingy that sounds a bit like this shuffling business.

Going from doubles spinning to sudden stop, both staffs horizontal: one high, one low (low one slightly forward)

then swap the positions by dropping the high one and throwing the low one straight up to the other hand.

Catching the dropped one is easy, but getting the throw to the high hand to look smooth and is harder.

Then go straight back into spinning, or repeat until you get bored.

Under the leg and over the back...Is that the same thrown staff or are you throwing two staffs, one under the leg and the other over the back?

Same staff Charlie. The other hand is just doing the extra spin behind the head.

Heh! I still aren't solid on that one, despite prcaticing it for aaages.

My biggest issue is that my left-hand throws are terrible, and I really need to use my right hand for the behind the back pinwheel.

On another note, I thought this thread was all about throwing both staffs at once.

Here's a fun one that looks hard but is quite easy to pick up.

1. Do a standard double-figure 8 with both staffs.
2. in one handlet the staff slide a few inches down your hand so one end is longer than the other.
3. As it passes in front of you, stick your leg up and throw it from under the leg.
4. With the empty hand still under the leg, pass the other staff into it and pull it back out.
5. Catch the thrown staff with the now empty hand.

Even non-firie audiences really like this one...Especially if you fake a groin injury afterwards

Lift your right leg up and swing your right hand under it. That's where you throw the staff from.

It goes straight up and down when released.

I have to admit, I still don't know what you mean by a wallplane...do you mean it is flat, with no forward or backward motion??

dont do any poi charlie?

when the staff is flat infront of you like a wall, is the wall plane, I suspect you pinwheel in the wall plane.

the side plane is at the sides of the body like standing in an alley. it just describes your body position relative to the arc of spin. Wall = facing the circle, side = at 90 degrees to it.

hope this clarifies tings

so wall plane is just a vertical plane perpindicular to the front of your body

I don't really understand why you'd give it a two word name when you can easily describe it in...um...eerr..TEN WORDS! (see above)

Hmmm, as for everyone calling em chucky, I guess I'm going to have to snail mail a few full diapers to Dom, for letting out my secret.

My secret being, I'd rather not be called a name that is a synonym for vomit!

but I'll let it slide just this once, coz Son of Chucky, needs changing...

Oh, you will be, Nix, you will be...

(Madly starts pulling diapers out the diaper bag and putting them into plastic wrapped envelopes. Then he logs on to the whitepages in the UK and starts looking up addresses)

But seriously, D'nos, it's safer to understand that it is usually derogatory to change someone's name won your own without them requesting it.

The only exception to this is usually a life partner, even family tend to get annoyed when people don't call them by what they want to be called.

so, on average, you are likely to offend if you meet someone who calls themselves Charles, and you call them Charlie.

If they wanted to be called Charlie, they would have introduced themselves AS Charlie.

Not that I care overly about it, but, serously, if you aren't sleeping with someone, its pays to assume you don't have permission to alter their label they use to define their image of themselves.

or...like, whatever

Oh, and yeah, I am currently known as Charles Dolbel AKA Charcoal Charlie AKA Sparkles the Clown AKA Oliver Twist AKA the Xmas Elf AKA Willy the World's Worst Waiter AKA Willy the World's Worst Juggler AKA Tom Thunder AKA INFERNO AKA Krazy Karl the mad unicyclist
