right...thinking about this earlier..having an arguement with simian about what was impossible and what wasnt..

he thinks that no moves are impossible..ie...all in front moves are possible behind the back.

i dont.

one such example..... behind the back corkscrew...

are there any others?

did i say that?

well, possibly...

i heard mr smallboy say it when he was teaching someone, that all poi 'moves' can be performed forwards, backwards, split-time, follow-time, behind-the-back etc.

Obviously there are limitations due to the flexibility of the body etc, but they aren't really that clean-cut.

And Elloit (iop) does behind the back corkscrew so there

EDIT: hehe, DSS beat me to that one

where to start...?

upside-down gillies, 32 beat btb btl fountain... ah sorry, its not all the impossible moves you want is it.

hmm. isolations in a btb waistwrap don't seem possible (isolating with the btb in-front arm is laughable) but then we don't really know if isolated wallplane weaves work very well at all yet so that don't really count.

erm. there's very few btb variations on moves over the shoulder with the opposite arm eg. right arm btb but spinning in front over the left shoulder (the normal equivalent of that being right arm crossing in front, spinning over left shoulder btb, which we all do lots).

umm. btb fountain ie. swap the in front beats for btb and vice versa. haven't tried it but i bet its really, really hard if it is actually doable.

ah-ha! never seen anyone do btb straight arm weaves - neither butterfly nor cross follow. now that actually seems impossible...

oh, and elliot can sort of do a btb corkscrew - doesn't go above the head so i guess its a corkscrew, with short strings.

[edit: i'm well slow me]

actually i've been trying to do isolated waistwraps, but only with the non-stretchy round hand. That still wouldn't be impossible though, just more stretchy than i can currently do

and (in all seriousness) i saw jon doing upside down gilligans while hanging from a trapeze last thursday.

In fact i think i saw jon do at least fourteen impossible things last thursday...

One of these days I'll grab you and coerce you into showing me some new moves, however I am a dreadful student.

You know what would be really impressive Jon if you were to spin wearing skates,on a unicycle, on a skateboard, on a mahoosive tractor wheel while riding a snowboarding horse!

Yee - haw!

actually the easiest is an allthewayroundthebodycontinuous corkscrew. normall btb corkscrew i need about 15 mins warmup and even then it's a bit dodgy.

borrowed the a.t.w.r.t.b.c. corkscrew as a variant of meeniks one arm round the back move....

i do catches where both poi end up in the same hand - sort of a poi-on-poi stall?
and stops where they stop right next to each other (looks they stop in exactly the same place if you got some big flames on the go ).

if dom gets to claim inverse gillies then i surely should get this!

right...taking that last sentence thus renders you not being able to do what you 'say you can' do...cos i did the inverse gillies..and not him..

but i have seen him do wierd gillies...when i just chucks the poi stright up.

i supose that could be classed as an inverse gillie.

Sorry to Be a stupid ass but whats a "gillies" ? I'm new to Jargon, The most impossable trick I've got (and it's not that impossable if your good with double staffs. Is a split timing...(alternate in my world) quadrouple staff fountain turn, with upper end lower armlocks (respectivly of course) looks impossable from outside but is actually fairly simple - just little room for error if you do it fast. I am way impressed by the stuff you guy's can do - not exactly sure if and when we switch to diablo tricks but if what you, glass, where talking about was with poi, I'm content to call that person too good and in need of a punchin...or cult following i'm not sure which.

gillies - gilligans.

another impossible move i came across recently is double neck wrap with more than three wraps.
impossible to do more wraps (without stilts) as more than three times the circumference of my neck adds up up to more than the distance from my neck to the ground - you can't neckwrap if your poi are longer than that distance.

Are isolation gillies possable? I.e the isolation is with the fixed hand.
Just started to understand how isolations are possable with D-staves, can isolations be done with contact staff? My guess is probably yes but you look like an idiot running around in circles. He He
