curiosity from a yank in California whose locality's police & coast guard & lifeguards are likely vigilant about fire, and where in our desert-underlaid suburbs and wildlands nearby, drought has brought on large fires the past few seasons....though we are organizing, quietly at first, beach burns in this area, and it's one of the nicest places to spin...

how do the Official Guardians of your beaches treat fire players?

We have soooo many beaches in Australia that usually, no-one takes any notice.

Of course in summer we often have total fire bans. If you ignore these, you risk copping a hefty fine. You can't even light a wood barbie in your backyard.

Australians don't really worry too much about 'rules' and authority. It's part of our culture to buck the system a little bit.
