Everyone loves a giant butterfly.

And loads of them are possible...

can be done forwards, backwards, normal & split time BUT you can't turn with it easily when your arms are crossed in front of you.

(2) there's the one where you're doing butterfly behind your head and you bring both arms down (keeping them straight) into btb butterfly. This is essentially half of (1) btb.

can be done forwards, backwards, normal & split time. Done forwards, you need to start with btb and bring your arms up to behind your head.

you can keep the butterfly 'constantly giant' using (1) or this way:

(3) practice this one without poi until it's smooth.

Stretch both arms upwards.

Bring them down at the same time until they are by your sides.

Now one arm will continue its motion going behind your body. The other will continue in front of you (it helps if you turn your body slightly towards the arm going behind you).

Keep the arms going (now moving upwards) until they are pointing upwards again.

Now you repeat this but with the arms swapping (the one that went behind you last time now goes infront of you etc.)

can be done forwards, backwards, normal time only if you're doing both halves of the move, but can be done in split time if you only do one half.

AND you can turn with this one... using all three of these giant butterflies in combination, turning around and all that, opens up some really nice stuff.

Also Liam Tempest is convinced that you can fly if you do enough of these in a row... <img src=" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

anyone got any more?

"Giant Butterflies" are a pretty standard club twirling move, no? We just do em with chains...

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.
[They do not move.]

I have no idea if giant butterflys are a club move or not. I guess it would make sense because they are a lot easier with clubs, however I have never seen anyone else do number (3) with either clubs or chains. And I've seen a lot of spinners.
