does anyone remember a cartoon called Lone Star?
It was about a cowboy and his horse that had special powers e.g By the power of the wind or eyes of the hawk.....and he had loads of rocket launchers and stuff!!! it was an amazing cartoon!

and then theres touche turtle!

and dogtanion!

and wizbit! with paul daniels and that yellow star type of thingy..can you belive that i remembered the name of that programme only after remembering the star and having never thought about it for over 12 years!!

The remember 'The Real Ghostbusters' being rather sophisticated (translation: it introduced me to ALOT of big words)

And a surprising amount of pathos. Especially in the episodes involving the End of the World (TM) namely 'Ragnarok'n'Roll' with a guy who due to being weary of the world and lost love invokes an evil spirit and a magic flute to destroy the world.

Retrospectively shares similarities with Buffy & Angel. In the sense that it's a supernatural show with a health sense of its own ridiculousness and shares many similar character archetypes. Bespecled older know-it-all (Egon/Giles) excitable not-all-there enthusiast (Ray/Willow) cynical get-straight-to-the-point lead (Buffy/Peter) cynical bitch (Cordelia/Janine) and stereotypical uneducated but straight talking black guy (Winston/Gunn). (Plus aforementioned Pathos)

raggy dolls, i totaly forgot about them.

we had superted in irish, that was so weird.

there was one cartoon that i watched as a kid. i have very VERY vague memories perhap-s someone can shed some light, or maybe even theres someone out there going thru the same.
it was a manga style cartoon. there was a boy and a girl. they travelled in a small golden dome, thru space(maybe). there was an evil old woman, like a witch.. and she used magic (maybe) to stop the 2 kids doing whatever it was they were supposed to do.

like i said its vague memories! anyone got any ideas what its called?

I vividly remember the episode of Battle of the Planets featuring a ship that looked like a giant beetle which was havesting sugar cane and turning it into hot boilng syrup. Jason Mark and Tiny got sucked into it and had to destroy it from the inside facing a number of obstacles including the vat of aforementioned hot boiling syrup (they got out of it using the batman-alike grapping gun...

Funny thing was as I kid I was always amused that the Villian Zoltar (who looked like Batman) appeared to be wearing lipstick. Years later I was shocked to find that Zoltar when unmasked turned out to be a woman!

Reading back on this thread and had so many memories from my child hood. My favourite has to be Fraggle Rock, couldn't miss an episode!

But does anyone know what the cartoon was of a boy and his dragon? the boy used to wear a cap with a spinney fan type thing on top of it. I loved this cartoon and can not remember what it is called confused

Oh Slothy. I may have been bad. I may have kept you chained up in that room but it was for your own good

Fandango, city of gold had the golden condor, (which was very cool) Battle of the Planets/G-Force had the Pheonix which was their ship and had a habit of turning into a giant blowtorch when they were in bit of a fix! (I cheated and checked on Wikipedia! wink tongue )

Nah. As I recall the Pheonix in X-Men was some sort of space being that took over Jean Grey's body and caused all sorts of mayhem. The Pheonix in BotP was the big blue and red ship they flew round in. I just remeber that everytime it went all fiery the screen took on an orange tint and they all sat right back in their chairs screwing up their eyes and gritting their teeth in that unique animé way!

OhMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD!!!!

I am about to pee myself in excitement; I remember as a kid watching this show that I think had giant flying space robots called Star Fleet. NO-ONE I have ever asked has heard of it (just me and Brian May who released some music based on its theme tune). And yet, here it is....

I didn't make it up. I wasn't mad as a child. I am vindicated.

Mwahahahaha.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

I REMEMBER STARFLEET!!!

It was only recently I found out it was by Gerry Anderson. Don't remember much I just remember a spaceship and the villianess had half a robot face and the only episode I remember was one where the ship became ensnared by vines...
