But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer-- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer.-- Ken Kesey

People...are you all forgetting the incredibly trippy and bizarre...

Jamie and the magic torch ?????

or the even stranger.......

Chorlton and the wheelies ?????

Its thanks to cartoons like these that I am now a well and truly established hippy type with an interest in things that make colours prettier and your head go ping!!!

Bless me mum, she used to sit me infront of this kinda psychedelic stuff with no idea of how it would currupt my poor, innocent mind!

(Thanks Mum!!!!!!)

Talking of cool cats, anyone old enough to remember Bagpuss? or Finger Mouse? or Mr.Ben?

As if by magic the shop keeper appeared

Mr.Ben fans how come he managed to get away with going into the shop everyday, trying on outfits and yet during the whole series he never bought anything?

Let's not forget Robotech or the Go-Bots... Transformers too! The new one (not the CG but the animated one from Japan) kicks royal ass! I have many episodes on tape.

Was also into the Captain N: The Game Master series, and the old Mario Bros / Legend of Zelda cartoons... they rock!

Any other Robotech junkies out there to support me?

Does anyone remember What-a-Mess? Or Henry's Cat?

They are playing Trapdoor in Australia every afternoon at 5:50pm.

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...

As a child of the '70s it was Scooby Doo for me. Captain Caveman and, later, the New Shmoo (remember that - little white thingy) were good too.

The Flumps (not strictly a cartoon, but animation all the same).

And then there were the "epic" cartoons that lasted what seemed at the time to be years: Dogtanian, Ulyses, Cities of Gold, 80 Days Around the World.

Soaring high in the sky,
He may be small but only in size.
Astroboy, Astroboy,
He is brave and gentle and wise!

Stronger than all the rest,
this mighty robot will pass the test,
Oh villians fear him, so we cheer him,
The amazing Astroboy!

When you need someone strong,
Our robot friend will never be long.
Astroboy, Astroboy,
He will try to right any wrong!

When there's danger near by,
No matter who, what, where, when or why.
He'll defend us, he'll defend us,
The amazing Astroboy!

Not a cartoon but does anyone remeber Worzel Gummidge with John Pertwee (also one of my favorite doctors) where he's a scare crow who has different heads with different personalities?

For anyone that's interested. the lyrics to Fraggle Rock are as follows:

Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.

Work your cares away,
Dancing's for another day.
Let the Fraggles play,
We're Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober, Red.

Dance your cares away,
Worry's for another day.
Let the music play,
Down at Fraggle Rock.

And the lyrics to Chorlton and the Wheelies are:

Jump in, we'll take you for a spin,
and show you round the Wheelie World
Hop on it's fun to come along,
And take a look at Wheelie World.
You'll be surprised how good it feels.
To zoom around, and you'll wheel so merrily
With me,
You don't need a ticket,
'Cos we'll get you on for free.

And if you see the witch Fenella,
Don't be worried,
'Cos there's no cause for alarm.
(ha ha ha ha)
'Cos we've got Chorlton,
who's a dragon,
and he'll keep you free from harm
(ho ho ho ho)
It's fun at anytime of year.
So put your wheels in second gear,
And then hold tight,
Alright,
We'll show you all the sights
Of Wheelie World......

Ba-dum.

Bagpuss:

(spoken) Once upon a time,

Not so long ago,

There was a little girl and her name was Emily,

And she had a shop,

There it is.

It was rather an unusual shop because it didn't sell anything,

You see, everything in that shop window was a thing that somebody had once lost,

and Emily had found, and brought home to Bagpuss.

Emily's cat Bagpuss

the most important,

the most beautiful,

the most magical,

saggy old cloth cat in the whole wide world.

Well now, one day, Emily found a thing,

and she brought it back to the shop,

and put it down in front of Bagpuss

who was in the shop window, fast asleep as usual.

But then Emily said some magic words....

"Bagpuss, dear Bagpuss.

Old fat furry cat puss,

wake up and look at this thing that i bring.

Wake up, be bright, be golden and light,

Bagpuss, O hear what i sing.

(ya-awn)

And Bagpuss was wide awake.

When Bagpuss wakes up, all his friends wake up too.

The mice on the Mouse Organ woke up and stretched,

(sound of mice stretching - I hope)

Madeleine the Rag Doll,

Gabriel the Toad

(slightly disturbing toad noises)

and last of all Professor Yaffle, who was a very distinguished old woodpecker,

he climbed down off his bookend and went to see what it was that Emily had brought

Ewoks:

We are the E-E-E-E-E-E-Ewoks (mm),
We're the spirits of the forest grove,
We are the E-E-E-E-E-E-Ewoks,
Burning spirits from the forest grove,
We are brave, we are bold,
Like are storytellers told,
Then we're strong and we will fight,
And we'll stand up for our rights,
We are the E-E-E-E-E-E-Ewoks,
Burning spirits from the forest grove.

The rest of the lyrics I can't fathom. If anyone has a copy perhaps they can help me out
