Ive been using this move for a while, but I'd like to know by what name it goes.

Its some kind of split time chasing the sun, but when I throw the poi over my shoulders I make a full pirouette and the poi spin around my head almost vertically.

If anyone knows its formal name plz post it here^^

Split time chasing the sun is a windmill with longarm motions.

Then its just a shoulder reel pirouette.

Most of the poi movements don't really have 'formal names' like leaping the frog, going over the canal or squashing the mouse simply due to the fact that if they did it would get awfully hard to communicate.

Since the internet has made it almost global, theres a lot of consensus on what to call things and its been a system of classification based on basic components.

This is probably also due to the flower explosion.

Someone needs to make a list of the components again. I saw one, but it is out of date....

But yeah, there are also too many variations around.

For example:
3 beat with long arm extension on the "on side", the same but with a lock-out during the extension, 3 beat to one side with the "off side" arm tucked under the opposite armpit, 3 beat with off side long arm (which is ugly and hard).

Four fairly easy-to-discover-while-playing variations on the 3 beat weave. You can not name all of the variations someone comes up with, or you would have to remember far too many. tongue2

PS: Not sure if anyone uses off side and on side like I do though. Off side is a hand/poi that has been moved across your body, on side is a poi/hand on its natural side. A three beat weave is two offside and one onside beats. If that makes any sense....

Maybe there sould be a topic like: whats the longest official poi move name you can think of? (you must be able to do the move yourself :P)

in my case that would be the buzzsaw isolated antispin fountain tongue2

As im reading my own post I realise something: is there some sort of official sequence by wich a poi name must go? like: isolated antispin fountain buzzsaw/antispin buzzsaw isolated fountain ect.

Well sort of I think that yours can be written two ways

Isolated antispin buzzsaw flower is the first that leaps to mind...

The only other one that would be semi acceptable doesnt sound right to me is this

isolated buzzsaw antispin(or antispun) fountain.

Fountain goes last because thats what it is... its a type of fountain, buzzsaw is the plane in reference to your body it comes under as well as being the action your body does, isolation and antispin are alterations to these.

So I guess its kinda like a verb and an adverb. "isolated" and "antispin" being adverbs with "buzzsaw" and "fountain" being verbs. But buzzsaw isn't quite... its a verb that can change another verb. What the hell is that?

Too late for this. ni ni

buzzsaw would be a verb and adverb, since people talk about doing a buzzsaw. (Generally they mean a split-time, same-direction buzzsaw-plane move. Or something like that....)

That was the one. Rereading it, that is less out of date than I thought it was....
