the second Australian Uber Event....Fri 24 - Sun 26 August 2007
Where?
2UberOz will be held in Brisbane, Australia.
At a large airy school rec hall that opens onto playing fields, with cosy social space at the scout hall next door. Plenty of camping/van space. 15mins from city centre, a few mins from rail, bus, shops etc.
Who? What?
Teachers so far include:
**YUTA** (Tokyo poi ninja) with his partner, Asuka, a trained contemporary dancer
**Dave Knox(ious)** (FlameOz etc...)
**aBlazin' Grace Billings** (FlameOz & Beijing Circus school!)
**Kyle McLean** (www.everyoneishappy.com) with a slithery team of contact movers and groovers
**Matt 'Wibbler' Terry** (Sphercular Vision)
**madjuggling Mark Douglas** (Sydney Juggling Convention)
** Davy Sampford (Circa)
** Trickswap sessions on hoops, contact juggling, etc hosted by participants

As well as Uberclasses in poi, staff and other juggly toys... there will be a strong theme around movement, choreo and self expression. Lots of seriously fun group movement sessions, interactive VJing and party time so come on up/down/over/under for a wicked weekend.

Prices range from
$ AUD 120

$ 50,000 at the door (we want you to pre reg...)
Price includes camping, workshops, fuel. Also, yummy lunches, to save you time, money and energy.

btw I'll be blogging lots more vids, from euro land. Not just me but things I really really like.
It is also one of the places you will see the 2UOZ video when it is done, which is why this post is not hopelessly off topic.

Filming... Indeed. Plans are afoot for a full commercial standard instructional DVD made around this event. Seeing we have Knoxious, Gracee, Yuta and Kyle in the one place!!...plus a cast of scintillating extras, starlets and whatever category Bender fits into

We have now added a lovely juggling (!) teacher to the A-list.. Davey Sampford. Davey is a trainer with two local circuses, and was the *man* in Circa's show A Man in a Room Juggling.
With the skills crossovers of the various teachers we can have full diablo madness too... this seems to be turning into a proper circus!
Over a third of the tickets to our lovely little event have been spoken for in the last 2 weeks, and I have not really started advertising much outside of HoP yet. So with 3 months to go, HoPpers, if you are thinking to come, let me know! If I have received word from you that you are coming, I am happy to hold a ticket for you and not worry about payment for a while...seeing I know where you live

hi everybody! this is a message for those of you travelling to sunny brizvegas by plane for this wonderful event! (yes, yes i know we're getting in & organised a lil early, but hey - it's better than a last minute rush for working out who's picking up who & then accidently leaving someone at the airport!! )
if you would like a lift from the airport to 2uberoz - can you please please please pm me with your flight details as soon as you know them?? this is so i can make a list of who is coming in when & then we can work out transport! (& save drivers having to make a lot of trips to & from the airport!!)
if you plan to make your own way from the airport to 2uberoz, you have only 3 options...already organised a lift with another friend, a taxi or the train!
a taxi will cost you around $40 (estimate - it cost nearly $40 from the airport to my place which is about 5 minutes from 2uberoz!) & they will be waiting out the front of the airport.
or you could catch the airtrain - please check this website for train timetables & prices! you'll need to go to gaythorne or enoggera stations. they're both pretty close!
& for all you lovely brisbanites! if you have a car & would like to offer your services as a cheaper alternative to a taxi for our travelling friends, please pm me!!
