Hi to all you twirlers and HoP lovers!
I'm Malcolm's latest addition to the HoP family with my first day of work here at HoP today (Mon 16th Oct 06) and I see lots of fun ahead (as well as a huge learning curve)! I am totally new to poi so I hope I don't make too many dumb comments!
A bit about me then:
George McNeur, male, age... "enough"!
Family: wife Heather, 3 boys 12, 13, & 15.
Location - Christchurch, NZ.
working career: Electronics Engineering - 15yrs RNZAF, 6 yrs in Test/Manufacturing and 6.5 yrs network products R&D.

ya i fear the day something happens that i'd have to have an MRI or even surgery (they always ask you to take out any metal, such as piercings).

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.

yeah. I remember a program ages ago about "alternative" people and a guy had gotten threaded sockets embedded in his skull so he can screw in metal spikes. He has a variety of patterns possible but usually goes with the metal spike mohawk look - and those spikes were looong so the sockets weren't small! No MRI's on that boy!

yep. I personally wouldn't go putting any metal in me like you have (too wimpy and old fashioned I suspect!) but doesn't mean I can't admire it or at least find it interesting on others if they've done it right.
Each to their own as you say - everyone is different - that's what makes the world an interesting place to live in!

Nah - she likes it on toast too. For her I have to carefully mix the marg/butter together with the marmite so it all melts in together at the same time on the hot toast...
