hey - I'm heading into my third month of singleness..
please tell me that the sence of lonelyness goes away. I think I kinda hate myself at the moment - can't do or say anything right.. maybe I'm just being too self critical.. but then again I deserve a good kick up the ass after allowing myself to be taken advantage of for nearly 3 years..

It's been nearly a year for me and the year's had its ups and downs. After a while you learn what it's like to live as a whole, and not as a half. Once that sinks in, you'll be right

Brenn, Sym - I hope so.. my sister has just had a baby - I should be the happiest Auntie.. but seeing the three of them together as a family only serves to remind me that I'm one of the only single people that I hang out with regularly.. argh.. need to get out more I guess.

I feel the same way - Most of my relatives are with someone, and my brother and his girlfriend officially moved in together just last month. I'm the only single person in my immediate family, and in the last ten to eleven months i've been stuffed around by potentials.
There are plenty of us out there, more than you realise
It does get better, but it takes the right frame of mind. True, being surrounded by couples doesn't help, but only if they don't go the right way about it (i.e. always talking about their significant other & how wonderful they are etc etc). Find yourself in the company of other single and self assured people and you will feel better If I could, we would so storm a bouncy castle together!

Just had a lovely conversation on the way home from the pub with a single friend of mine about how it's all about being comfortable with who you are. If you're not, no partner in the world can give you what you think is missing in yourself, or your life.
So my answer to Stix would be, it gets better as soon as you accept yourself as a wonderful person who's not a loser or hopeless just because they're single. Look at all the couples and all the stuff they moan about and ask yourself if the average coupled-up person is really so much happier than you

the 2 don't contradict each other... it's not like I never ever want to have a boyfriend because I'm oh so smug and comfortable with myself. But there's a difference between single=unhappy - partnered=happy, and single=happy - partnered=even happier.

We spent about a month living as singles before he moved out.. I spent the next few months having a great time, thinking that I was happy with myself and content etc.. but I've realised that I've jsut been lying to myself and it's all come crashing down around my head in the last week.. ho hum.. I know I'll 'get there' eventually.. lol

Oh freak! Certain men are just so stupid! I had a client ask me out to dinner the other day. Not too bad except for the fact that he's 38 and married with two kids! Ok seriously, wtf? Argghhh!
Stuff like that just makes me want to stay single....

Hell yeah Sambo, and that just sucks... and you know what is worse we are the ones that are single most of the time... so maybe we should start thinking with the dude downstairs and maybe we will get a girlfriend.
