I have had hair caught in the ball chains maybe twice while doing wraps so while it is possible it's not very likly and ball chain is definitely the way to go as far as I'm concerned.

I've been doing staff for almost 4 years and poi for about a year but yeah you're right I haven't spent a lot of time on this site or any other so I'm kinda ignorant.
