Here we go, I'm going to be fairly blunt, so look out for that. wink

Practically everything could be cleaner in some way. Usually its because you're gimping patterns or coming out of plane.

Technical skills are decent, but I think you really have to pay more attention to some of the basics, plane, timing and arm positioning.

Especially in the beginning there were a few points at which I wasn't 100% sure which plane you wanted to be in. Your plane changes were fine, however.

Timing slipped in there at a few points, its not overall so bad, none of the things are really so bad on their own, but as a combination it starts to add up. (To the trained eye, at least)

Arm positioning is where I think you're gimping your patterns, sometimes you're not fully extending your arm when you have for the rest of the pattern. (You pull it in before finishing as a transition into something else)Or you quite simply move onto the next thing half a beat or so too early.

Kinda strapped for time for now, so if you have any questions feel free to fire away, I might get back and extend my comments somewhat or I might not... we'll see if I remember. Good luck with the rest of your poi journey.

Thanks for your critique MNS!
Some of this all has to do with my current poi being super old and way to short. If I extend my arms all the way the poi only come to a little past my elbows, which doesnt quite do it for me.
It's about time for something more my size(I'm 6'7")=]

Sounds a good plot.

In the meantime have you tried pulling your elbows in a bit to make the shorter handpath to make up for the smaller petal size?

It could be a good exercise in handpaths, especially when you start throwing in arm extended stalls at 45 degree angles to do a full butterfly pattern of any kind, prospin or antispin. Probably cateye now I think of it but I wouldnt be able to try it... maybe in line isolation... umm

*ponders*
*wanders outside*

Edit: Ohh, no the line isolation one just results in the other horizontal line isolation because the heads, being on a line just won't reach the end of the line, resulting in a smaller pattern. peace

the age of the poi show - the fire is coming down quite fast and much of your routine is lost due to a low flame.

So I'd suggest to narrow the act. Also try not to make as many repetitions of the same moves within a routine.

I also love the suitcase - only it seems as it makes you dangle the poi quite a lot in the beginning before you actually start.

the best smiles are the ones you lead to wink

I'd rather just put those 250+burned heads away and make some new ones =]

The briefcase is more for our first act of a show
We keep our props in them as the three of us walk out all dressed up and eventually we synch up for the opening of the cases and lighting of our poi.
I got 4 free cases from work so why not? lol

Also, this was freestyle and not rehearsed.
