I got into fire knife around 4 years ago.
I don't practise consistantly though. I go through phases where I just twirl like a maniac every day for a month or so, then I wont touch the knives for 6 months, till the fever comes back again.
I got the fever right now!
I'd practise more if I could get more gigs, but its hard to get work performing with fire here in Japan.
