meh, the significance of this number is wildly mistaken, it's beezlebub (aka, satan, father of all evil, The Devil) birthday! Given that he's older than time itself, it roughly equates to once every thousand years... he is mildly insulted that mankind didn't club together and buy him a cake, but says that it's no real excuse to kill everybody... although reputation is nice to have he did mention that he wishes more people would look past that and how he his beneath all the pomp and circumstance... The gates of hell yawned open in my living room earlier and he's round for tea and jammie dodgers right now, so we've been having a deep and meaningful chat. He's definately up for meeting new people, especially cool and groovy ones who like fire, just let me know, i'll pass the message on.... You can phone him but 118 118 is really a work number, if he's having a bad day, it's not very pretty.

Even though most people don't even make the connection with the date (people I work with) there are people that are taking this very seriously. I know of two schools that are closed because of credible threats and two that actually have uniformed police on campus because of, what they term as, non-credible threats.
We just need to remember that no matter how bizzar a connection will be with numbers/dates and the apocalypse, there will always be people that will believe in it. Even though the scripture says that we will not be able to figure out the date.

Oh yes the number is 616 according to possibly the oldest copy of Revelation ever found in an ancient Egyptian landfill/trash heap, the number is clearly stated to be 616 and not 666. I knew it had a one in it somewhere, this is the best article I found on it here...

But seriously it isn't the devils number but the number of the beast. Some also say its the number of man (seriously) 7 is the perfect number - eg god created the world in 7 days. 6 is imperfect - god created man on day 6. So 666 is really just humankind as we are all imperfect.
Except Me!!!! :admires giant wooden aeroplane: Its about time trees were good for something, instead of just standing their like jerks!!!

it was in the daily star or the daily sport so it must be true

if i had managed that, i would have sooooo called it Damian. Damian Adam Beezlebub, haul out every satanic reference, it would be funny, think of all the people you could potentially freak out with that information whilst they're cooing over your child.... although unless he(or she...?) was a really tough kid (or actually was a child of satan), i'd probably change it to something less demonic when they start school, i'm not that cruel.

The number of the beasts is not a triple six. It is six hundred and sixty-six. There is a difference.
In Hebrew (and Greek, I believe), it takes four charactors to write the number 666, while it takes only three in arabic numerals. To a hebrew or greek reader, they would not see three sixes, they would see four letters that mean six hundred and sixty-six.
Did anything bad actually happen on 06/06/06? So far I haven't heard of anything. I figure if I was a devil worshiper I'd round up some stray cats and have a party, but I haven't heard any interesting stories in the news yet (except the one about the baby Damien).
