hello everybody.

This is the edited version of my intro, as i realised the other one was a horrific attempt at saying hello.

Well, I come from the isle of wight, a very lovely place between the Channel Islands and England. Many of you may have been on holiday here- i generally find people i meet at uni have.

Ive been into poi now for about 2yrs, and I love it. Theres nowt better than spinning on a summers eve, between 7.00 and 8.00, with a can of strongbow (yes im a country boy) waiting for me on the patio table.ummmmmmmmmmm. At the moment Im the most obsessed with poi ive ever been in my life, all i can think about is spinning spinning spinning!!! I can do quite a bit with the old beauts, but there is much out there for me to learn, and im excited about that.

oh yeah, a weird fact about me is that i can only stand cheese when its melted, and pulling cotton wool apart gives me the heebeejeebees. ubblol please post anything that freaks you out too

hello welcome

i'm not very good at describing moves but i'll have a go.
If you look in the vid, when he does a stall he pushes the poi in the direction its going. You can do them in all sorts of directions.

I'm sure someone will come along and describe it a lot better than me!

Hello and welcome!

I found it best to learn stalls with fairly heavyish sock poi. I cut a hole in the tennis ball and filled it with sand to add to the weight.
That way you have a bit more control over where the momentum takes your poi. Just remember to work with it, not against it, and it will come with practice.

Sock poi are literally socks so they are cheap as chips!

Get a pair of the long, over-knee socks and just chuck a bean bag or juggling ball in the end and there you go....sock poi. I get my long socks from a market stall and they are only £5 for two pairs, hopefully there will be somewhere near you that sells them cheap too

happy spinning biggrin

I was slightly confused when they died, it's completely random, and you think "Are they *really* dead, or is she just messing with us?"

you seem like a pretty cool guy, so Hello from me!

I hate red polka dots on a white background, and I get nauseous at the smell of mushrooms...

Sorry Sethis, just seen your post. Thanks for the complement. Ive been seeing you around the forums. I have to say you have very wise words. biggrin

I hate mushrooms in their cooked form, *burgh, tiny vomit spills into mouth, and swallows*, but i love them raw (even the more magical varieties)

As the cheese goes, ive been weining onto the solid. Ive been eating cheesey chips with semi maluable (half melted) cheese, and i dont mind it so much.

Ive realised that i cant stand to touch bags of tate and lyle icing sugar. The sugar generally spills onto the bag creating a scratchy *wretch* sensation to the touch. Not bad for someone who works in a shop i spose wink

i like drinking, socialising, having my ego rubbed and a whole host of other things, like poi, music which i adore- current favourites at the moment are nitin sawhney, steeley dan, quantic soul orchestra and plump dj's, smoking is one of my favouites im sad to say. but blu-valley will back me up on its joys. I like kissing the rain, dancing in the rain, dancing in my pants, dancing in clubs, clubbing seals (ooops, no i dont really like that) ummmmmm kissing, ear nibbling (thats a gooden if your good at it) having my hair played with, and ogling men.

see joe, thats at least * counts* lots of things i like.

i thinks there is a certain amount of cliche that goes with him.

if his album cover was more dark rather than a 60's medley of vibrant colour, i think he'd have more credability. That, and not selling out to Asda.
