Did the summit do anything or did it just serve to fuck over poor, developing countries in a unified shout of capitolistic fever?
Tell me what do YOU think!

What a joke. US people, spend some time researching your own countries foreign policy before posting again...
Thanks,

I swore loudly at outcome of feeble summit. bush is not popular in this house. he's an evil sh*t F*ck. capitalist money grabbing, earth destorying polluter. (I'm beyond presenting rational arguments on this today, maybe I'll add my favorite enviromental statistics to the thread later.)
America is the biggest Target in the world, Al-Quida is the smallest. After decades (well actually centuries) UK govt saw sense and stopped trying to fight the IRA, They saw that you can't beat terrorist with guns and checkpoints. America will learn, bush will learn.

I dunno. I'm hoping that it won't work this time. When we fought the Gulf War, the timing was very different. First, Iraq had actually invaded Kuwait. It gave us a good excuse to go in there.
Second, in 1990 and 1991, we had just come out of the Cold War. American patriotism was still riding high. We had focused so much on defeating the evil communists that we had this feeling of invincibility.
Third, we'd really never heard of Iraq or Saddam Hussein before.
Today, it's different. The Cold War is long forgotten. It's not as cut and dry as fighting another major superpower. We're the only remaining superpower and our power is completely unchecked. We don't have to be nice to people and convince them to be our allies against the Evil Reds anymore. Because of that, international views of the U.S. have soured.
We've heard of Saddam Hussein. We wondered why we didn't get rid of him the first time. But he really hasn't done anything this time, so we wonder why we're suddenly going after him again. At least in 1990, there was a clear reason (not a good reason, but a clear reason) to go after Iraq.
We don't feel as united as we did back then. During the Gulf War, Arab-Americans were still looked on as Americans. Today, Arab-Americans get dirty looks as they walk down the street. The most vehement flag-wavers seem to spout the most un-American values. And the economy is tanked.
Finally, Bush is going way too far in using terrorism as an excuse for everything. He's taken this extremist view that anyone who doesn't agree with him on every single issue must be in support of terrorism. But many Americans aren't buying it anymore.
I'm glad that Bush is pushing for a strike on Iraq. Because it's doomed to fail miserably. We can't operate out of Saudi Arabia, this time, and the world is against us on it (except, inexplicably, for Tony "Lapdog" Blair).
And when this fails, compounded with the U.S. government's failure to find Bin Laden, there is going to be a very loud THUD. And I hope that Americans will decide to vote for someone other than Bush.

The TUC say no to war. 80% of labour MPs don't want it either. And UK population says no too. Most of Europe says no. Russia says no.
Bush and blair say yes. hmmm.
They'll be another anti-war march in London soon. Should have even more Poi-ers than last time.
