So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Work is oooook. Maybe we pass on Ginga and keep Singapore in mind wink

I think demure is my word of the day..
1) Its a nice sounding work that rolls off the tongue
2) Pat tries to be, but just isn't
3) Can be used in just about ANY sentance. Yes, any sentence. Relate to people, things, chickens etc
4) Can be used to mean 'demure' and 'NOT demure', sarcastically. As in, "hmmm, verrry demure, Ry"

biggrin Monday morning random pscho banter, once again.

Biggins: Hey dude! Yes.. thanks for that link, but haven't entered as of yet. Just had a quick browse of the rules, and apparently you need to be a UK resident, but that's ok- think I'll just put my mum's address on it.. wonder if that'll work. Will have to get on it soon though- not even sure if I've missed the closing date.

-------------------

So so.. catching up with myself.. what's new.. not much really especially in the poi department. Bit of stagnation and lack of inspiration. It's so hard to be motivated not having a moonfest to look forward to..

.. and when your job's gnaws at you.. anyone want to hire me? Serious question. redface

In other news.. the shots from the wedding have just been processed.. I should do more weddings. Money's good and work's far more interesting. I should do more photography period. Bought a second camera but seem to be taking less photos. How is this possible.. Just took a look at my HoP gallery and nothing new's been added for a while. Need to update.

In other other news.. Pip's rats- SzeChuan, KungPow, Lao (Lay-Oh) and Prata are now the largest things in the world, and are eating and pooping and eating and pooping.. anyone have tips on making rats more sit-beside-you-while-you-watch-tv?

Also. The housemate situation.. Ry's looking for a housemate again! Applications being accepted now.

So. What's everyone up to? beerchug grouphug ubbrollsmile

Ry,hi sweetheart, was wondering if there is a kind of digital camera you recommend? Just for general purposes, though I will probably be photographing jewellery close ups a fair bit, and maybe the odd short video clip of poi...

Just toatlly lost and a bit queezy trying to read and figure out what I should buy... tooo much info....Looking for a mid price range, practical good quality camera, for a lazy travelling sort who does not have time to learn to be a photogragher! Suggestions? Please? Thanks!

Today's a bit mad here too.. but yes. Yay for horsies. Because they're running today for Melbourne Cup we're getting some free sandwiches for lunch.. mmm free... hehe

Andrea:
The recommended options:
https://tinyurl.com/y7xgrt

The recommended camera:
https://tinyurl.com/y5wuxs
(also probably get yourself a set of 4 2500 or mah Energizer rapid charging NiMH AA batteries (with rapid charger), and a 2gb sd card). This unit's got a really good macro setting, and for day to day use, 6x optical zoom. Also it's built more rugged than the other 2, and would probably better withstand all the festivals and midnight romps and things..

For the best image quality (and if you have money to spend, the SD900 has the biggest sensor and the most megapixels, but doesn't have image stabilisation, which is handy).

Any of the 3 you'd be really happy with, but for my money, I'd go with the a710IS. I've recommended it to Karen (funkwaxpuppy) of Carnival of the Divine Imagination and she's really happy with it. smile

Lou: I suggest going the rental option. The 'strewn' clause in the pin levy fineprint, specific to certain exclusive pinny individuals, would indicate that you're looking at a somewhat astronomical figure.. spank ubblol hug

Pip: mmm.. quietening down a bit now. If the Melbourne Cup's good for anything, it's for making people drink and be merry and not call up to bother their local photographic service agent. ubblol

Cedar Creek eh.. Wouldn't mind, but hammocks aren't going to happen.. hammocks at a creek are somewhat like a serving platter for mozzies.. See me--> help
