So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

David: Unfortunately.. turned up on their doorstep with Pip and the place was shut! 15 minutes before they were supposed to be too.. frown But really- you've got to check this place out if you ever come round this way.. it says all that stuff on the menu, but it's vegetarian (textured soy protein, for example) and very convincing. I reckon you could feed the veggie ham to a meat eater and he/she wouldn't know it wasn't meat!

Well as I've said (a few months back) that I WILL be coming round your way in the next few months biggrin (just need a work Visa sorting out).

Re: Veggie ham. Even though I'm a meat eater I'm quite a fan of certain meat substitutes (like the chinese make - like Gluten Abalone)

P.S. I'm okay for now as I nicked a few of my friend's Nice (as in 'Neese') biscuits (well she did say help yourself)

Laters Ry!

Mm.. the veggie stuff is good, but don't get me wrong, a Beef Capital T Bone steak is pretty hard to beat ubblol (couldn't find the smiley with sharp teeth.. shrug)

That does sound much better Ry, but you will have to introduce me to the meat substitues as well.

I believe Dave is planning a similar trip as myself (I got the idea from him wink )
I am also needing to sort out my work visa then flights. smile

Think you guys should do a Dale & Dave trip!

Yeah the Beef Capital T Bone steak I had at Casino NSW was some steak.. it was 800g, on top of what probably was another 200g of chips, with a mushroom gravy, and it came together with a bowl of veggies.. it could have easily fed 3. And that meat.. never had beef as tender as chicken before.. It was something!

The meat substitute stuff.. it's pretty trippy. Anyone who's been to Kuan Yin would tell you their 'fried chicken' pieces are pretty convincing..

We discussed a joint trip, but both agreed we needed to do them seperatly, but we will probably meet up occassionally for different events, such as a moonfest.
I know a few take aways near me that have 'fried chicken' like that, but they are not meat free, just not actually chicken.

Thats a BIG steak dinner, look forward to trying it smile

Well, it's a bit of a way out.. It's a few hours on the train, or a coupl of hours drive.. Just happened to be going to a doof around there..

But yup.. this stuff's not reconstituted chicken or horse or anything.. textured vegetable protein. It's pretty good. Remind me to take a picture next time. ubblol
