So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

Yep, stop motion animation.. Pretty neat, but I haven't played with it at all. One of my sculpture teachers at uni had a project going on though. Stop motion, with all the frames taken with a digital SLR! Not sure if it's finished, but it's here:

Can you get one of your pictures on it.

Wow. It's been 2 months since I stepped in here.. sorry for dropping off the planet.. redface Not much to update everyone with.. things have just been you a bit of this and that. An odd adventure every now and again brings a smile, an odd raincloud now and then brings a sigh.

The question of the moment asks how to get more photography work.. not feeling very rich these days..

Lou: Two months ago there was work tomorrow.. ubblol

Gnor: The plate's been put on hold for now. Have to start thinking about paying next year's rego first. Money's such a lousy currency. I propose we trade in shells ubbangel

Dave: That's a croc and you know it. tongue wink When you going to be in Brisbane dude?

Jen: Hey thanks for the thoughts miss.. all's well, not incredible, but well. Work in progress. How are you? hug

Tina: Hey miss.. thanks for the big hug delivery! Got it a while back and it was good one biggrin Kyle's well, he just moved in to a new place and he seems pretty busy these few days.. I'm thinking that's a good thing. Did some photography work with him recently. He's a great colleague! How are you? Is all well on your side of the world? hug

Bonnie: Didn't make CG after all.. saw the pictures and it brought me back to CG1.. ubblove Did you have a good one? hug

Elke: For you:

Things are good. I haven't been doing much poi related stuff lately though.
I'm heading back to the UK on Fri 23rd, for a month or so. It'll be good to see my family and stuff, as it's been well over a year since I was last there, but I'm going to miss Kim and miss being here.

Hmmmmm, speaking of flying... we saw an advert the other day for return flights to Sydney, with 3 internal flights round Australia and New Zealand, for $850.
In other words, cheaper than Kims flight to New Orleans for christmas!
It's highly tempting, but we've committed to going to burningman again this summer, and vacation time is limited.

But, if the price is still fairly low, we never know what next summer might bring.

I see the possibility of you guys coming round this way and a vignette falls on everything else you said.. ubbangel You know you want to! Besides, you've just done burningman tongue

Where in the yookay are you headed? I always thought you were Canadian born and bred..

Australia isn't going to happen sooner than that I'm afraid. And we didn't just do burningman- we missed this year out wink
Anyway, we'd want to spend a decent amount of time down there, if we were to do such a long flight, and that takes a bit of planning and the use of all our vacation time.

I'm headed to Newcastle in the UK (up north). It's where I'm from and where all my family are (apart from my bro who's now an Aussie). I've only been in Canada less than 3 years!

3 years.. I was thinking about how long I've been in Australia the other day.. coming to 6 years now I think. Nearly a quarter of my life.. Where does the time go.. Are you in Canada for good?
