So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

A million years since my last post, crikey! eek So here I am, early at work, again, taking a quick moment to update everyone!

Bek: I just showed Pat what little whip stuff I knew, and he picked it up really quick! I on the other hand, seem to have forgotten everything now ubblol Need a new whip to practise with. Took a look at some whips online a while ago- not the cheapest things eh. So many things to buy.. must raise funds!

And I'll send the luck pixies who helped me out over- they're pretty effective! Either that, or you need a little figurine of a monkey on a horse's back, placed at the south of your office, or work, computer space.. like such:

https://tinyurl.com/36y7z5 biggrin I know you'll get one soon! wink (job.. or monkey.. or job and monkey.. and horse..) hug

And hugs for Pip? biggrin She deserves lots.. and not just she took me out to a nice Indian dinner last night biggrin Hey btw. Anyone in the UK willing to post me some chicken tikka from an English pub? The chicken tikka in an Indian restaurant may be more authentic, but it sure doesn't taste as good.. frown!

Pip: Morning miss! Thanks for dinner last night- was good! Not as good as Mughal Palace, but was good nonetheless. Actually, that reminds me- we need to sort Sunday Chinese dinner out! Note to self, email Joel.

Hey, Saturday morning, juggle gathering at West End Markets, shall we make it official with a post?

Hope you're having fun at work! hug kiss Imminent page 4 indeed ubblol

Fi: Hey! Good to catch up the other day.. hug By now you're in Perth again I reckon?

Also, forgot to ask you- do people poi at the mines? confused

Pat: Thanks for job luckness- it worked! Bek's turn now? mm! Juggle in 3 days. Hey, are you vegetarian? Just wondering if you'd be up for some Chinese restaurant dinner in the valley this Sunday. May not be vegetarian friendly though..

And would you be up for a West End Markets gathering Saturday morning (tomorrow morning). You can bring the rugrats too?

Kaya toast! Hey, did I mention I got my new housemate totally addicted? She said she's going to go to the valley, buy a whole bunch, introduce her whole family to it it's that good. Speaking of which.. just ran out. Must buy moreeeee.. biggrin

Back to uni yet? hug hug

Andrea: eek Congrats!! Wow! I took a look at the site and I am very envious!! And no deer!! ubblol

Still hiring by any chance? Send the pictures please!! ubbangel hug

Elk: Saturday morning! Similar to the New Farm gathering, but at West End Markets- can you make it?? hug

Tony: Yup! Department of Education Training & The Arts! In otherwords, I work at a TAFE ubblol It's pretty good hey- government's got some very very nice benefits and pay schedules biggrin

Glad you liked the unicycle shot.. thought it came out alright wink Badminton signature ubblol..

Kels: Hey miss! Long time no hear- new job's going great so far. Would be nice if there were a couple of better food options nearby instead of just the really fried stuff downstairs, and the more expensive stuff across the road, but other than that, I don't really have too much to whinge about. It's so much more easy going than the previous job, and is a bit more human too.

How are things on your end? I see I have a pm to reply to as well.. Will get on it asap!! hug

Pete: Hey sir! Good luck very much appreciated thanks! New job, as you may have read already is going pretty good! Soon I get a bigger, better desk, then I'll be thinking about decorating ubblol

How's school and stuff? Made any good new music lately? smile? hug

Oh by the way, haven't told you yet but there's quite a bit going on at my house on the weekend. Pauls moving out by sat (and I must mow the lawn before he takes mower) and the new guy, Dave, is bringing some boxes over sun arve (around 2pm)

I don't know about making the markets gathering totally official for this sat seeing as things are up in the air. It might work tho, but it's a bit 'hmm' on my part cause I have those things to do.? Also, Elke is away at a cousins wedding. Shouldn't do the gathering without her, but then, you and I could go and do the big meeting another time.

Btw, biggrin Anything for you wink

ubblove

He he.. yep I do try to look after your social issues while you're 'not around' (ie saving your thread from a very uncool disaster and handling your mum) ubblol

Totally official is the Chinese New Year dinner this Sunday to celebrate the end of Chinese New Year. You heard it here first and we'd love to have you. It's hard to get around to everyone - we are compiling a list now of people we must let know about it - but if you don't get a notification it's not because we're ignorant, it'll be because my memory is atrocious. We're thinking King of Kings, Fortitude Valley?

Have a great day all and a special kiss for you, my dear.

Yeah certainly not the cheapest, but i thought about what a normal sat night costs if you go out (Not that i really do go out...) and realised its not that pricy considering they are supplying dinner and 24hrs+ of live music. Im pretty happy biggrin

Taking 5 people in my car so the fuel cost between us for a 45 min drive is barely noticeable.

Shall take plenty of dodgy camera phone pictures for everyone bounce

Hey Ry wave
Wow I haven't been by here in a while. Are you still travelling or are you back in Aus now?

I've been back at my sewing machine, creating things. I made a pair of really cool black pants (100% cotton, so I can spin in them). They're all fitted and nice round the top, with a waistband and side zip, and then come out all flowy at the bottoms.
But my fire troupe also decided they were cool, so I'm now making them for everyone. umm

I'm also making a cool furry jacket (not so much for spinning in!). It's made from two tone rosebud material- deep purple with small white swirls of white furry stuff on top. So it looks white with little hints of purple showing through. I can't wait to have it finished. smile

Have you redone your wrap pants after they burned?

Bill: Suredly doodly! So you and Bons coming or what?? biggrin Long time no see- wanna know what new crazy stuff you're up to. ubbloco hug

Fi: New job eh?? Which site now? Any chance you could get a twirling pic right next to one of those 4 storey tall trucks?

Not that much new.. Working lots, earning modest money and just keeping a positive outlook. Want to get back in to inline skating, cos I like what some of those new freestyle slalom people do. Need to get new blades first though. You? hug

Mand: Heya stranger! Another long time no see'er. smile! Got pics of the pants/jacket?

Can't say I've attempted any sewing since those ones burned up. The painful memories.. ubblol I have attempted to make a hula hoop though. Was trying to make the most perfect hoop I could (not planning to do anything with it after.. just as a design challenge), and I think I made a pretty decent one, but I kinda failed on the design bit. Used tape which was too wide. gah. How're things in Mand land? hug

How're things in Mand land? hug

Lol, things are good in Mand Land. Snowboarding season's just finished, and spring's well and truly here.

Yesterday we went rollerblading for the first time this year, next to a reservoir. It seems that it doesn't matter how many times I go, I still go a quarter of the speed of everyone else and manage to look like a constipated chicken. umm

I don't have any photos of my stuff yet, but our troupes got our first fire show this weekend, and I expect to end up with lots of photos that have the pants and jacket in them. I'll let you know when they're online. I guess I have to work out how to put photos in a thread on here, if I have them hosted on photobucket.
Anyway, back to work. Busy busy busy...

Lets steal a spaceship and head for the sun, and shoot the stars with a lemonade ray gun.

Guess what! Brisbane might be going to level 6 water restrictions!! eek

Mand: *snap!*

Pip and I went blading yesterday too. Constipated chicken ubblol.. Blading's pretty fun- used to do it heaps more, but have kind of taken a bit of a break from it cos my wheels have worn til they're tiny, and the skate is literally being held together by rubberbands and scotch tape ubblol. Need new skates but they're not the cheapest things are they..

Speaking of skating- https://youtube.com/watch?v=VSbFLyqRZZc eek

Looking forward to stuff pics!! smile!
