Posted: I'm looking to buy some braided rope (to make some rope poi) but i wanna put the ends together and then twist it around and around and sew it together, does anyone have any idea on how much wick i'l need to buy as i really dont wanna come up short or have 5ft left over!

Posted: Depends how long you want the poi!
If you're just folding it over and twisting the rope take the length of poi, double it, add about 20% for twisting shrinkage and errors. You can keeps the ends together by various means, but if you use a small knot then add a bit more.
You can also buy some cheap rope of the same diameter and experiment beforehand.
