Ok. Brief synopsis of the weekend then:

Got to Lanson Friday. Sat about playing net backgammon and stuff until around midnight when Mojo turned up a bit pissed. smile Bless her. She stayed until I left on Sunday, and we talked about a lot of things.

Saturday night Thom, Simon, Sarah, Steve and Ben all came over and we drank wine, smoked the small amount of greenery we had and caught up. Despite my initial reservations (I am and always will be a cynic) Mojo seems to really mean what she says, and it would be kinda stupid of me to argue the point after trying to get her back for 5 months.

Kids were fine, the usual fighting and shouting, and I totally forgot about Izzy's homework til about 5pm on the Sunday. (baaaad father! tongue) I'll be back with them again on thursday.

Monday 22rd Nov

A total write-off. Woke up late, decided to spend the rest of the day lying in bed watching the west wing, season 3. Rang the bank, who refused to extend my overdraft. Rang the job centre and got them to send me some application forms.

Tuesday 23rd

Got up and went to my ethics lecture. I was late. Spent an hour chatting to my lecturer afterwards, making sure I wasn't way off course with the work I've been doing. I have to give a presentation next week. Looks ok though.

After that I had a quick meeting with a group of people I'm writing a feature with for Magazine Journalism (yawn) and agreed to ring a couple of contacts to get some info about Cornish music.

Went home, had a cup of tea and rang the job centre again. Couple more applications winging their way towards me. Hopefully one of them will metamorphose into a job. smile

I am currently researching a story on EU regeneration in Cornwall (yawn yawn) for, you guessed it, Magazine Journalism (the most boring course ever.) Then I'm off to CircSoc later to play.

Good fortune and hug to all

Wednesday 24th November

About 6ish Joss and Brad came over, then about 7ish Angus came over too and we all went down to Random Rides, one of the skate shops in town. Some friends of mine have set up a skate company called Faltown Skates, and it was their launch party, so we went and span in the street (quite a narrow street) outside the shop.
We burned for about an hour and a half, having to jump out of the way of pedestrians and motor traffic. Eventually, and somewhat predictably, the fuzz showed up and said there'd been a complaint. I did my usual "No problem Officer, we were just packing up anyway" routine, and they thanked me before getting back into their car and buggering off.
That done I wandered up to Jake's and cashed a cheque. Rosie and Esther were there, so I had a couple of ciders and sang a few songs (open mic night) to a pretty full pub. Then I wandered to Travis's and hung out there for a bit before walking home about half one and watching the West Wing until I couldn't keep my eyes open any more.

Wasn't Rambo. It was this.

Would've been ok if it'd had subtitles. The dubbing people should be hung.

Looks good, but bad dubbing ruins films.

Rambo doesn't need to be dubbed, however. It's already crap.

Friday 26th November 2004

Woke up this morning and fed the girls. I got to Launceston yesterday by train. I decided not to write about Thursday directly as all i did was get up, go to Launceston and watch West Wing. Took Izzy to school and Rhe and I went into town so I could get some fags and I bought her a bun from the bakery.
Came back and drank tea while Rhe watched the Fimbles etc. Read a bit of Baudrillard. My presentation is next week and I need to get my ideas in order. It's quite a wierd and complicated subject, very much open to interpretation, so I've got my work cut out for me, but I'm quietly confident.
Spent an hour typing out an in-depth track list for a cd I just made for my friend Tim. I shall post it to him when I get back to Foulmouth.
Picked Iz up from school at half 3, then came back here and gave them some paints and let them paint some of the pictures in one of their many colouring books. Cooked spaghetti bolognese for dinner, Mojo got a lift up with Thom and we ate while trying not to watch Neighbours. After some struggling (Rheanna) the kids ate their food and I put Rhe to bed and left Iz playing on CBeebies.
Thom went home and Mojo and I lay around watching TV. I put Iz to bed about 7.45 and we went to bed about 10pm. I couldn't sleep, so I came back down here to do this, and to play backgammon.

Not a particularly interesting 1000th post, I think you'll agree. But what the hell, none of the other 999 have been particularly interesting either, so why change a winning formula? smile

Thank you all everyone I've ever spoken to on HoP, and extra big hug & kiss & beerchug to every HoPper I've met and will meet in the future. This place may be called Home of POI but I think we all know it's home to far more than that.

I love you all. heart grouphug heart

Sorry for lack of posting, I've been really busy sorting my life out and trying to get college work done. At the same time. In the last couple of days I have noticed the following things:

When the wind is so cold it stings your face, it makes you feel alive.

Cold weather makes all women look more beautiful than usual. (The pink cheeks thing wink)

The sky went turquoise and pink on Monday night and it looked incredible.

Most people will do exactly what you want them to do if you only ask them to do it.

Keeping lists is a good thing to do. smile

Will post more when I have time.

Take it easy

Heh. Yeah. Pretty wasn't it?

Tuesday 30th Nov

Got up at 9am and went into college for my ethics lecture. I needed to attend this one as it's the lecture that goes with the seminar presentation I'm giving on Thursday. Came back home afterwards and had a bite of lunch, then wandered in to town to go to the post office and popped in to see Nicola to say hi. Then I came home and tidied my room for the landlord's room inspection.

I did a bit of work on my presentation, then went to the last CircSoc meeting of this term. Quite a small turn out, but I figured out how to throw a staff in the air and catch it on the back of my neck, so it was worth going. biggrin

Came back home afterwards and worked on the pres. Had to pop out down to Bump's quickly to pick up a dvd ripping program that I then spent half the night trying to get to wotk properly. Went to sleep about 4am.

Wednesday 1st December

Woke up with a start at 12pm with Nick shouting my name.

"I thought you were getting up early?" He asked.

"Wha?" said I.

Got up and had a fag, then got dressed and came into college to check a few things. In a minute I'm going home to keep working on the presentation for tomorrow. Wish I still had net access from home, it would make things so much easier. I have to bring a floppy into college, save all the things i need onto it, then take them home to work on them. Very annoying. As soon as I get a job, one of the first priorities is broadband.

OK. I haven't been here for a bit, so a very quick (lightning speed) update.

Thursday 2nd Dec

Presentation went well, although I've just discovered that I need to hand in 1000 words worth of presentation notes by the end of the week to go with it.

Mojo came down in the afternoon.

We went to Shades for rock night with Nick and Esther.

Friday 3rd

Did very little. Did some shopping. Lazed about with Mo.

Saturday 4th

Did very little again. Woke up shortly before dusk. Went into town for a few drinks in the evening.

Sunday 5th

Lazed about. Watched Mallrats.

Monday 6th

Mojo went home this morning. I'm trying not to think about college work and trying to sort out the final touches for this [Old link]

Monday 6th December

Spent the evening sorting green out for people, and kinda tapping away at the start of my ethics essay. Wrote a paragraph, then realised I needed a book from the library. Very annoying when yer train of thought gets interrupted like that.

Popped down to Sarah's about 9ish, stopping in to Threshers to get supplies on the way. Hung around with them and watched more than I ever wanted to watch of "i'm a celebrity...". My Gods, what bloody awful crap they churn out as TV.

Wandered up to Alex's and had a quick smoke with him. Watched the news. Apparently Plymouth police are really worried about an increase in drug-related violence, so they're having a crackdown.

Ask me what it's called.

I'll tell you.

"Operation Magnus"

I am not impressed.

Got home about 11.30 and watched tv with Nick for a bit, ate some pizza and had a smoke. Then went to bed and read for a couple of hours.

Tuesday 7th December

Woke up about half 1. Oops. smile Lay around and finished the book I was reading, then had a shower and made a few phone calls. Then I came into college to check in with you lovely folks and to get the book I needed last night.

No CircSoc tonight, last weeks was the last of this term. I have nothing to do on a Tuesday night! frown

Maybe I'll try to do some work.

Tuesday 7th Dec [continued]

Ok, so in the end I stayed home and the world and his dog came over to get green. Finally about half 11, Brad and I went out for a sneaky burn on the college campus. He's got two new staves, "reservoir" staves or summat. They're pretty cool.

We only had a bit of fuel, so once it was gone we returned to mine. Watched "Spiderman 2" with Nick and ate cheeseburgers. Then Nick went to bed, and Brad went home and I watched Eddie Murphy's "Raw" dvd. Tis pretty funny. Read for a bit and went to sleep about 4.30am

Wednesday 8th December

Got up about 2pm. Nick had already left and gone back to Stafford for Christmas, so I pottered about tidying the house, had a quick chat with Mojo and came into college to try and sort everything out for this weekend. I really am the least organised person I know. biggrin

Probably gonna go to the pub and play guitar later. Not sure what to play. If anyone can find me a guitar tab for "Love Really Hurts Without You" by Billy Ocean, I'd be mightily pleased (and impressed as I've scoured the internet looking to no avail!)

Ah well. Toodle pip.
