Age:21 Blood: Scottish, French, Cherrokee Sex: (Yes, please..tee hee) I'm a whole lotta woman. Special Abilities: tribal bellydance, drawing, writing, acting, painting, photography, horseback riding My dream man: Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom (Two guys at the same time count, right? Well, as long as I'm dreaming can I add Angelina Jolie??) Music: Anything from the 60's. I'm kindof a neo hippie. BOWIE BOWIE!! And arabic, hence the bellydancing. Movies: French noir, anything foreign or just good. I'm an actor you can't make me pick a favorite!
I'm originaly from Oklahoma. I moved to Vancouver Canada when I was 19 and that's when I disovered poi after watching Chiana on a TV show called Farscape (Chiana's hot!).
I looked fire spinning up on the internet and ran into this wonderful site. My first set of poi was balled up socks on leather strings. That didn't last long because the strings kept breaking and the socks would go flying across the apartment.
I then moved a step up to tennis balls on shoelace strings. That's what I used to learn most of the tricks I know now.
Durning Christmas 2003, I ordered that performance poi with the tails and I have become obsessed with poi since then, but over a year of doing unlite poi I was getting frustrated.
I ended up moving to Seattle because my visa expired( Whaaa!! I want to move back to Canada, plans are in the making right now for marriage to my best friend to get a green card! Whoo-Hooo!)
Now, last night, on Beltane, practically THE fire holiday, I finally got to play with fire. I was SO scared and excited. My friend didn't want to go first, and since I have never seen it done before I didn't really know what to expect. And I can tell you now I was shaking so bad that I could barely hold on to the handles but the second she lite them I knew this was going to become an obsession.
I think the sound scared me the most at first. But after the first few seconds it was so..well you remember what it was like. It was magical!!
I bellydanced and poied the night away. The big finally though we accidentally set the gas tank on fire. Whooops!!
I KNOW I am going to be having dreams about doing fire poi tonight. I'm so excited. I have always wanted to post on this board for the past 2 yrs almost, but I thought I should wait until I actually did real flames! Now I have and I can't wait until I can do it again!
Fairy Kisses and Blessed Be!
It'll be great getting to know you all!!!! I'm still on the fire high. I did less than an hour ago so I thought I'd post while i'm still feeling it!

I was always scared with my mother's obsession with the good scissors. It made me wonder if there were evil scissors lurking in the house somewhere.
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.
