I just found a beautiful glowstaff at

but the 1 inch diameter is too much for my GF's fingers. She's really good with a batton or short staff (anything between 70-110cm), but I can't figure out how to do it bright enough and thin enough. I considered EL wire, but the examples I've seen thus far have not been very impressive, certainly not as nice as this:

Any suggestions? I'll even pay one of you gifted innovaters to build it.
