Occupation: Sportsman sounds a bit pretentious, so I'll be more specific and say that I'm a member of the US Fencing Team.
Hobbies: Fencing, SCA, music (listening to it and playing guitar), movies, books, archaeology, history, philosophy, theology, travelling and just about anything else that peaks my curiosity!
Toys: Fire Poi and currently making practice poi so it'll hurt less when I hit myself in the head.

Having seen the billine fight in a mass (2000+) battle I can honestly say that any attempts to make it less nasty, in any small way, should be welcomed wholeheartedly. Headbutts, knees, elbows, punching with gauntleted mitts. Anything goes. But they don't like stabbings. Funny fellas.

8 years in Paris can teach a man to hate.
Its pretty much impossible to recreate battles of the time without it becoming as dangerous now as it was back then!
Geneva was barely a city, let alone a convention.

The SCA is a great organization. I plan on going to Pennsic (www.pennsic.net) again this august and doing my first fire spinning "performances" there.
Since I haven't been to Geneva, I imagine that I was being a smartass. That happens pretty often.

hmmmm.... i just spent all afternoon twirling! Feels great! i haven't taken that much time out for quite a while - i usually feel too guilty for not doing my uni work. Now i just need to bribe someone into coming out with me while i light it - i'm not all that good yet so want to have someone there to tell me when i've set my hair on fire
Oh I'll check out that other site you mentioned before now that i have more time....

but really i'd even forget my own if it wasn't on a holiday. but actually, seeing how you're a LEO, you probably NEED to have people forget your birthday. teasing good luck with your show! now i'm pissed that you didn't spin for me, i could have helped with your show, you know... i'm sure green with envy that i can't go to pennsic!
