Dunno really... Just cos I wanted a different colour to make fakes and suchlike stand out a bit more, and yellow is the best colour they come in that isn't pink.
I can't believe I've actually been posting on HOP pretty much all day. It's gonna have to stop soon, gonna have to go and get dressed up cos I'm off out tonight.

As you can see, the blue is pretty rubbish. I really want a set in black and white, but they don't make them
Closest you can get is the glow in the dark ones, which are a dirty offwhite-ish colour. "Take that, math!"

I agree, pink and purple are beautiful together. My favorite color combination is hot pink and purple... one day soon I'm going to die another silk dance veil and it will be hot pink, purple, and orange. Because there's nothing wrong with orange either, despite the opinions expressed by some folks on this list.
