Hey Hop Community, my Name is antispin, entertainer, or Ben10..
I live in the DFW area in Texas, and I have all my life ::))
I'm 23 and I am a Marketing Consultant for Ambit Energy and I do other work as well.
I've been spinning for 5 years.
I make all my own poi.. I mostly use tennis balls and lace. I spin fire sometimes and I glowstring sometimes.

I joined the HoP community in search of broadening my network. I would really like to travel the world someday, spinning, and entertaining. I hope to find like-minded / professional-minded people on this forum with the same aspirations.

Lace? Like the frilly stuff at the bottom of dresses?

Like RC's knickers...

Welcome to HOP! The correct answer is actually Marmite, but not everyone is perfect....

Throw yourself in to the popcorn pool, just keep an eye out for the squirrels they're crafty little things.

If i had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isnt. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldnt be. And what it wouldnt be, it would. You see?

I can't do ne thing entertaining as WELL as poi, i can juggle 3 balls only at the moment (and in one direction only). I am able to walk on stilts and I'm an o.k. stage actor. I spent 4 years in high school playing the tenors on the drumline; i play several different percussion instruments.
I also dance a lot..

One direction only? You are one of those odd people that learn a shower before a cascade, are you not? Crazy....

idk what you mean by that. but now that i think about it.. i guess it would be better for me to say '3 balls only, though i'm learning to use more than three and am intrigued to learn how 'they' juggle off the ground.'
ya see, i'm very open minded to learning new things.

It's special popcorn made by Ascilith and me. As luck would have it, since you're in DFW, you may just be able to have some in real life.

Real life popcorn? I'm not sure it will live up to the hype, there are extremely high expectations of this popcorn now, and as for your 'special seasoning'...

Back to the introductory conversations..

I too am a struggling juggler, I think I just get too fristrated with juggling and realise that I am a lot better at staff spinning so go back to that. Although as anything I guess it is just practie practice practice. I can do a lot more now than when I first started but everytime I try to learn Mills mess my head hurts.

Maybe if we invented a machine just to slow down the movement of the balls so I can figure it out once, I think once I get my head around the moves it should be pretty simple, just a little confusing at first.

... Wow that's a lot of writing right there

I will make this popcorn available to all when I return from my trip! Most likely at FMG2.

EmmCeeeFF if you catch a plane to Belize around June the 6th you may judge the popcorn for yourself, otherwise you'll have to catch a plane to FMG2 north of Dallas.

I don't think you can handle the popcorn!

I learned Mills Mess by accident. Just get comfortable throwing under arm. Once you are comfortable with throwing them at random, throw every throw with one ball under arm and you should be able to get it. wink

1020: Shower is the pattern that you see often in cartoons, where all the balls move in a circle in one direction. Cascade is a crossing pattern. smile

And the Casade is by far the easiest, for most people.

Aston, I'm going to pretend I didn't hear you say you learnt Mills Mess by accident...

tongue2 I did a pattern where I was throwing the same ball in a cascade pattern under arm everytime I caught it. Then someone else told me that it looked a bit like Mills Mess. 30 minutes to get it to travel a little and look nice and I had the pattern down. wink

Still need to get a huge amount of patterns down though. And have yet to give 5 a serious attempt.
