Apprendre Butterfly based moves - Thread the needle

This video was beyond helpful! In the last video with the gentleman doing the 8 cap variation I could understand what he was doing in his movement, but could not understand how he was spinning it at all since I am beginner. I could not understand where he was holding it to spin it. The video was too far away. But this woman I can clearly understand how she is dropping it and spinning it around. Thank you!
