Hullo there, I'm new to this whole poi thing. Like really new. No, really, I haven't been doing it for even 48 hours yet. In that time I have managed to spin enough poi to blister all of my fingers and cause my right wrist to swell. Over the course of the past day and a half I've spun a good 12 hours minimum (minus smoke breaks).
I'm addicted. After an all nighter of practice I have done nothing but read and plan and think about poi. When I close my eyes I see poi. When I sit still I start to sway as if I were spinning. When I make hand gestures or go to grab something my wrists twist in the motion of a 3-beat. It's a little retarded. I look forward to developing this new skill and hobby. I will be persistent, I will be inquisitive, and I will be a little annoying. I hope you can forgive my overeager silliness and share your knowledge with me. =)

Outside of poi I'm your everyday jack-of-all-trades and craftsman trying to make anything out of everything (or everything out of anything). I love to learn, study, and experience. I'm big into unity of body and mind and development of the infinite potential of myself, my surroundings, and the world. From the spiritual and intellectual, to the physical and practical, I want to study and experience it all.

Oh, and one more thing; I ramble ;D

Name: Kris or Saer

Location: Dayton, OH

Hometown: Dayton, OH

Birthday (sign?): 08/18/1988 (yes, many 8's), Leo

Age: 22

Sex: Theoretically I'm a woman

Occupation(s): Craftsman, artist, and general jack-of-all-trades. I'm a returning student desperately seeking employment in a city with no job market.

Favorite Food(s): Sushi, fresh fruit, fancy cheeses. Especially partial to Japanese food and anything spicy.

Favorite Color(s): Deep red or crimson and golden green

What is the wing speed of an unladen swallow? Not nearly as fast as the wing speed of an unladen swallow being chased by a velociraptor.

Toys: Just poi for now but I want to learn staff, hoop, and contact juggling. For now my balls are just cloth but one day they will be shiny, shiny glass

Hobbies other than the obvious: Oh man, I have way too many hobbies. I am a hardcore jack-of-all-trades. The big ones include drawing, crafting, video games, DDR, D&D, writing, music, sewing, cooking & baking, reading, cosplay, studying language (Japanese especially), studying everything else, learning new things, creating anything out of whatever I can, experiencing everything I can, and generally living.

Education: I went to college once but I wasn't very fond of doing homework or attending class. I'm ready for round 2.

Favorite Book(s): Siddhartha (Herman Hesse), 1984 (Orwell), Dharma Bums and On the Road (Kerouac).

Favorite Movie(s): The Prestige, Amelie, Fight Club, Life is Beautiful, The Princess Bride, Avatar (Yes, the one with the blue people. No, I'm not joking)

Godzilla vs. a Star Wars Star Destroyer. Who wins? Why? I love Godzilla but the Destroyer has range. K.O. Destroyer Wins!

Favorite TV show(s): Well, I don't really watch TV anymore. I watch Doctor Who and Torchwood online (and plenty of anime).

Plans for life in general: I want to either get a degree in Japanese or teach myself so I can major in something else (herbal medicine maybe?). I'll do freelance translation while teaching English in foreign countries to make and save money. Then I'll take that money and buy my own land where I'll build a cob house, create a huge permaculture garden/farm, and become generally self sufficient, doing crafts, tattooing, and translation on the side for money. =D

Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Bob Dylan, Led Zepplin, Radiohead, Godspeed You Black Emperor, the Pillows (just to name a few).

Do you think these pants make my butt look too big? Nah, but they make your head look HUGE! 0_0

Favorie ice cream flavor(s): Vanilla Orange!

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella?* What is this witchcraft you speak of?

'And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.'
