Update time! (7.9.09) Ooh! Hadn't done one in two years and two months!

Name: Bethany

Sex: been a while!

Age: 23

Location: Geelong, Victoria, Australia

Your favourite website/s: current affairs ones...I'm such a loser.

Favourite Toys: hoopy goodness, my original poi, guitar

Been "twirling" since: i got my good-ol sand bags from some hippys in airley beach! if that description fits you feel free to say hi! however my very first time was on school camp in NZ in grade 6. I then started "spinning" when I went to the UK and got teased for saying "twirling"

Occupation: recently returned aid worker

Hobbies: rowing, writing, socialising, music, poi, staff, performing, juggling, languages, dancing, reading

Music: 60s, 70s, folk, indie,

Movies: Labyrinth, Moulin Rouge, Mirrormask,

Food: Risotto and Chocolate. and Lasagne from TiAmos in Lygon Street

Books: The Big Orange Splot...I had individuality burned into me at a young age...I just suspect I took it further than my parents had been hoping!

Favourite Colour: royal purple! and of course red - but did i really need to say that one?

Favourite Quote/Saying: "Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now" - Crosby, Stills and Nash

Last seen: In the jungles of the pacific

It's really bad, because it's just a photocopied sheet with 5 spaces to practise and one example word. Nothing is done in class, and then they lose you marks on the test when the kanji arent spaced properly! Fair's fair!

wave just saying hi ^_^
:sneaks out:

PS: You gotta love those Kanji sheets... we got three pages for 4 semester with 1000 Kanji on it - and we had to look up reading and meaning by ourselves. and then we were supposed to know them by the end of each semester. That's why after eight semesters I only know about 300 #-/

And then the teachers have the nerve to wonder WHY we barely know any! the silly, silly geese!

I did have a system where I wrote the week's kanji and stuck them on my wall....but that sytem wa short lived - i stopped doing it after week one! ubblol

I actuall tried a flash card program for my mac where I put in a few hundred Kanji. And I must say it works great

...as long as you use it on a regular basis (-_-)

Well I used iFlash to be found on

https://www.loopware.com/iflash

but it's mac only. but I believe there are many alternatives for the windows world. I just thought using a program beats paper flashcards (which I have tried to the same effect) because you can have an infinite number of sides on one card ^-^ whereas paper only has two sides - no matter what I do *scratcheshead*

BUT...

in the end I still wish there was some "The Matrix" like way to learn Kanji... ;-p just plug in a cable and get your data...

It's really SUCH a bother at times... (-_-) *sigh*
