Hobbies other than the obvious: Golf, Snowboarding, reviewing terrible American TV shows, Video Games, and the usual 'I like hanging out with friends, reading and going to the movies' cliche :P Education: Graduate of Southampton Uni. Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) A career in IT for the moment, and when that gets too stressful/I suffer some sort of London related breakdown, try my hand at writing full time (i.e. about IT etc, not 'I'm going to write a book one day'. I am going to write a book one day come to think of it, but that's beside the point).
Nice to meet you all!

Always love to meet other authors. What kinds of books do you write?

I write mostly online at the moment, reviewing TV shows and writing articles about the current state of the IT industry. I also write research papers for my company from time to time on stuff like open source web development tools etc (yes, I'm boring myself half to death talking about it too :P)
I am working on a novel which is a crazy sci-fi thing, but set very much in the real world, so no spaceships, elves, rings of power or warp drives :P The closest thing I can think of in tone would be the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy by Philip Pullman. It's at a pretty early stage tho (I have only written about 24 chapters) so I don't think it will be finished any time soon.
Also, in a spectacular display of failure, I forgot to say anything about Poi in my intro post, so for anyone who wants to know: I am a poi newby who is currently experiancing the joys of walking funny due to smacking myself in the nuts about 20 times this weekend whilst trying to learn a three beat weave (which incidentally, I finally managed to get after spending an entire afternoon on it). I am now able to do basic reels and link turns from forwards spinning to backwards etc as well, so it's not all bad for a days work.
I'm still lame at spinning a reel behind my back tho.
The current plan is to move from poi to LED poi/Glowsticks and then eventually on to fire poi.
I'm not sure how being a reserved Brit is going to work out with dancing about like a nutter spinning fire around my head, but time will tell I guess.

Posted: I'm working on a steampunk young adult novel, although it's been slow going lately as I'm moving. That and poi seem to have taken over my free time.
Reels still for whatever reason kick my butt. Everyone's gotta have a hangup, I guess.
Still, n00bie love all around and yays for poi!
