New member here in the USA and hopefully next week on my 23rd birthday will be getting my first set of poi. (girlfriend won' tell me if I'm getting them or not, surprise surprise). I absolutely fell in love with the art when I saw it performed by a friend at a full moon party a few years ago. But for some reason never tried picking it up myself. Until recently I never thought of buying my own and practicing. I have been using socks and tennis balls for practice till my actual ones come and I must say it's much harder than some people make it look. Other than that hope everyone will have a great month of beautiful may and hope to constantly get better at this great art.
