...for anyone wanting to contribute to the open source part of the HyperLight project (which will also support loading patterns for other glow tows as long as someone writes an adapter), I've set up access to a subversion repository which is going to keep hold of the GUI development. There's more details here.

The software core is an MVC structure and currently I'm working on loading data into the model from a .poi file. My plan is to add adapters for each type of files so you could potentially load an Aerotech based file into the same software.

It's written using wxPython and will be cross-platform (so it should run on Windows, Linux, MAC etc.). Currently I've only tested it on Windows (although the other guy now contributing is running under Linux without too many issues) though so there's probably a few bugs in there if you're trying to run it on other platforms.
