Posted: well what ca i say...................after a sketchy period EASTERN HAZE now has the funding nd backing to run for another 4 years
this is NOT a festival run by mean fiddler and i hope never will be
they are not out to fleace money from patrons as with most festivals, they're there to provide that old festival/fair feel with a modern twist
line ups to be confirmed as of yet so i won't go there......
what i can say ( having see the new site plan) it it will be shed loads beter and more improved than last year's effort ( seeing as they had only 12 weeks to plan last year)
the site it's self is set on an old country estate, 10 acres of bliss, there is even a fairy circle (of old oak trees) in the middle.
the dance area is well out of the way so the camping field will not be disturbed nor will the local village. the main stage WILL be much larger, there will lso be a more varied take on most music styles.
lot of stalls, kid area, performrs etc so keep your eyes on this thread because as of janary 20th it's only 6 months away
thanking you please

Preparations for the Eastern Haze Festival which is to be held at Somerleyton Hall Estate on July 20th, 21st and 22nd are currently underway. Organizers say the event will take place at the same location only this year they have expanded the site to allow more performance areas. Last year’s festival, hailed as great success, saw the likes of seasoned festival pros Hawkwind, Dreadzone and Eat static on their stages as well as a multitude of other acts and performers to please all ears. Aside from the music, many other forms of family entertainment will be available including a fabulous Children’s Area with entertainment, workshops and activities and an Holistic Area with a range of complementary therapies, meditations, ceremonies and workshops. There will also be the Eastern Haze Green Area which, as well as showcasing a number of different crafts, will also have examples of Alternative Power supplies as well as various environmental and awareness campaigns. Our in dome and outside cinemas, which are both powered by wind and solar generated energy, will be showing a range of visual treats and showcasing some of the best of the region’s film makers and animators. Local artists will be displaying pieces of their own work around the site as well as in our ArtSpace marquee, which allows local artists the opportunity to get involved in the event. Our Circus & Cabaret Stage will have a range of different acts, comedians and other festival weirdness to entertain all and to complement the walkabout interactive theatre that will be occurring around the whole site. Amongst these and other attractions there will be a range of stalls selling a variety of items and a wide variety of cafes and our caterers will provide food to suit every taste and palette (including many food intolerances). Camping for the three days is included in the price and will take place on grassed fields adjacent to all the action. Tickets are priced at £65 for adults (18+), £45 for young adults (14-17) and free for accompanied children under 14 and are available online from the 10th of January. A family ticket deal is available. Details of this and all other information about the festival such as the latest acts, can be found on the website www.easternhaze.com

this is a warning to all, please watch out for the wombles
we have 3 wombles coming up from their hole in wimboldon common to make sure people are aware about littering and pollution, their job is to make you think about what you do with your rubbish. they are NOT there to clean up after you so please be kind to them and give them a hug if you see one
thank you that is all

last year we only had 12 weeks to sort EVEYTHING, this year we're going to have spent 12 months planning etc.
we had some major problems last year like a blanket wide ban on ALL fire, campers had to camp on fresh cut stubble, the bogs didn't get emptyed nearly enough and the water points weren't thought out propperly.
now all thats sorted out, we got so much more going on AND we have the levellers (but we can't bill them as that so it's levellers acoustic) headling the acoustic stage i cant wait

Posted: sym is indeed a legend, he put up witrh so much [censored] over the haze, all the problems we had (including a death during the festival) lack of power/organisation problems and me stressing out
there's been a lot of mixed feedback, some good like "best festi i've been to in a long time and only £65" to the more extreme "£65 what a rip off, had a horrible time as it was so muddy"
i've escaped the site for 24hrs to sort some stuff out but i still have another week helping pack down
dunc (polarity) was good to see you again if only for a short time and thanks to everyone else that braved the conditions, hope nobody got bogged down in the mud too badly.
