Hey Everyone! My name is Alex and I'm very new to the world of poi and fire spinning. I have some friends in Seattle that got me interested in it.
I'm 20 years old and work at the MGM Grand in the Ka' Theatre as a front of house Character Actor/Usher combo known as a Gatekeeper. I graduated from Eldorado in '04 and now am a full time student at UNLV. 2 more years and I'm DONE! (hopefully). Let's see, I'm a vegetarian (No, I don't eat fish, and yes, I eat cheese and eggs). I'm very much into health foods and exercise. Another hobby of mine is running. I love to do it. Some random facts about me, I'm half Irish and half african American. In the future, i want to be performing somehow. Whether for Cirque Du Soleil/Broadway, Hollywood, I would love to continue acting/dancing. What can I say, I'm a leo and like to entertain.
Favorites:
Color: Purple.
TV Shows: Survivor, Daria, and Family Guy.
Musicians: I'm a huge Sheryl Crow fan, as well as Enya and I still like the Spice Girls. ( *gasp, I know it's sad. )
Books: Waiting for the last Harry Potter Book like the faithful nerd I am.
Movies: Spaceballs, Psycho (1960), Broken Hearts Club
Favorie ice cream flavor(s): Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Wow, thanx everyone for the warm welcome, I can already tell this is a group of people I'm looking forward to getting to know.
How is everyone doing today?
Since I'm just starting out, I was thinking of getting the fuzzy poi that comes with the DVD, is that a good product? Are there any better suggestions for starting off?
I'm craving peanut butter and Jelly for some reason, I think I'm going to go enjoy some at home. Have a fantastic day everyone!
