I'm actually a juggler. Just thought I'd drop by to say that I like the look of poi routines, and a good fire poi effort is as good as, if not better, than what some jugglers do with three torches. Think I'll be back again soon - I really liked the humour in some of the forums. Some of the juggling sites get a little to anally retentive by comparison. Good to meet you all!

Hello, welcome to HoP!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Thanks for making me feel welcome. It seems as though everyone else has given their details, so it would be impolite for me not to. I'm 32 - although people always insist that I look much younger - and I live in East Kilbride, a large town just outside Glasgow. I never really learned a trade after leaving school, at the moment I work as a printer's labourer. No wife or kids yet, just a jumbled history of errr, amourous adventures. I like motor racing, unusual music, and I'm no stranger to "exotic cigarettes". Like I said before, I juggle, ultimately I'd like to perform in the circus. If you want to know anything else, just ask. I have nothing to hide. Unless it's buried in my subconscious.

Yeah, Gidg...wouldn't want to put anyone off their food. It's a good job I'm nothing less than a perfect gentleman, or I could suggest that it may put them in the mood for something else.

I'm not exactly brilliant at chess myself. I went to a juggling convention in Suffolk this year and this young girl kept whipping my ass at chess. She was a spinner, as it happens.

It's not that hard to learn. It can be a good laugh to play, your opponent might be set up nice at the end of the game, then their smug smile fades as they get a bad roll of the dice.

Have a look at the Wikipedia page on backgammon. It has detailed rules, and some handy tips on strategy.
