Hello, welcome to HOP.

Have you looked at tutorial vids/DVDs yet? There's loads of free ones on here and other websites to start you off.
The shop section on here also sells good tutorial DVDs - I found them much more helpful than books too.

Aww you,re all so nice to have replied :o)

I have my first set of poi and a book on there way to me - hurrah!! I have looked at the tutorials on here, but becuase I have to go to the park to practice it's difficult to remember what I'm supposed to be doing!! I did go however, and received various strange looks from passers-by... Can't wait till I can get home & do mre practicing!

I don't really understand how one can compare nutella and marmite. It's like comparing a kettle to a giraffe's eyelash or a dog smile to a shred of dignity crossing the face of a tireless mercenary

Well they both spread fairly well on toast poipirate... I can however see your reasoning. My other half eats nutella from the jar with a spoon - he can be so grim

I have to say I much prefer savoury, but it's the spreadable chocolate thing. To me this is just very wrong!! I like my choccy straight from the fridge!!

The whole nutella/marmite debate started many moons ago. And the reasoning is very, very lost in the mists of time.

Personally I'm bi-spreadable. But there were fierce (well as fierce as a bunch of hippies can get) clashes between the various factions. And both sides took heavy losses.

There's a unsteady peace at the moment. But if you are too adamant in either direction... well both factions are just looking for any excuse.
