I am. On Valentine's Day we are having dinner and maybe a movie as a "family".

Then on Saturday Whipping Boy and I have free movie tickets that we are going to use, and my son is going to Mark's mom's for the evening/day/whatever. I think we are doing food and just having a fun day out. I always look forward to that. As a single mom, it is a treat anytime!

Happy Valentines Day all!

I'm looking forward to it! My brother's getting married in a castle in Scotland and I'm going to twirl fire in front of 70 guests. I can't wait. Better not have too much champagne though...

Wow Sunbeam - that sounds amazing. Hope you have a fantastic time.

i am looking forward to Valentines Day hugely - as I get to spend it with the most wonderful man in my life. We have nothing planned but smiles, snuggles and a bottle of wine so it should be absolutely lovely.

I have a secret Valentines suprise for my C@ntus too, but I can't give it away just yet

i dont in any way adhear to vd as i dont belive that you should only show your love to one person on one day of the here as this marketing ploi wopuld have you belive

if you love some one you should do atlest just one thing a day to show them your love

it dosnt have to be big for there is just as much love in small things. love dose not cost money love is the hapyness, tendernes, comfort you feel for the person you love

I agree with brainstormer (not competly) at least he's on the right track. It's just a day for hallmark and other card company's to make money .

Besides you shouldn't need a excuse to do something nice for your loved one .

I also agree re: the commercial aspects of something that should be second nature in a loving relationship..

however - what about the collective consiousness? Put aside your cynicism for just a little while on the day and extend yourself to really feel what the energy of the world is doing. It's quite infectious.

If it takes a commercial money-making ploy to get people to stop and smell the roses and make that extra effort to project love, then so be it.

Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday and always has been.

I'm a romantic and its the one time of the year where everybody else at the very least pays lip service to the way I feel all the time.

I'm looking forward to valentines day. I don't have a partner and usually get quite sad about it at this time of year. Valentines is a tough time if you're single.

But this friday I'm going out to dinner with my parents. Which is really special because for a long time I wasn't close to very close to them but in the last year all that has changed

PS Brainstorma's VD comment had me in hysterics as in the UK VD stands for veneral disease

1. Make him something...

2. Make out a massage certificate (you do the massage), to be used whenever he is most stressed (you have to be prepared to drop everything and go and do it though).

3. Propose (well, depends on how you feel i guess)

4. Write him a poem about all the things you were going to buy him and then why each thing wasn't good enough for him.

5. Give him a homemade card listing all his good attributes.

6. Make him a tiny Armani suit out of cardboard, and tell him you washed it on hot by accident, can also double as a card!

7. etc etc etc

Am just about to spend valentines evening on the phone with a bar of chocolate and a bottle of wine. And strangely enough, it is going to be the best ever

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...

That's a good balancing act.

Put the phone on the floor though, that way if you fall off it after drinking the bottle of wine then you wont hurt yourself.
