ASHTON COURT 2006

Ashton court is being held over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd July 2006.

Here are some details taken from their website (https://www.ashtoncourtfestival.com):

Welcome to the Orange Ashton Court Festival.

If you're not familiar with the festival, it's Bristol's best-kept secret - a fantastic outdoor festival held every summer featuring.....
Two outdoor stages showcasing the best of local bands with national headliners to finish.
The WKD Bigger Top featuring souly, funky, hip-hop, jazzy bands.
The Colston Hall Global marquee featuring a unique mix of modern and traditional music from around the world.
A Performing Arts marquee featuring dance, poetry, comedy and theatre.
The Acoustic marquee.
A large kids' area.
"Blackout", a marquee featuring experimental film and music
Plus over 150 stalls selling foods and crafts from around the world, three Event bars and fairground rides.

Frequently asked questions

These aren't just the things we think you should know; they really are the things that people phone up and ask us. In the weeks before the festival, the phones are red hot with queries, so please read on, help us out and save yourself the cost of a phone call...

What's the deal with tickets?

You can just turn up and pay on the day. We will be offering discounted advance tickets too - watch this space for details about price and availability.

Who is playing this year?

We will be announcing our headline acts in a blaze of publicity on the 7th June. An alphabetical summary of all performers will be posted here on the 8th July, and full details of who's playing on which stage and when will be available in our programme which will hit the streets during the last week in June.

What about parking?

Parking at the lower car park will be £5 per day. If you want to park in the privilege car park next to the site and avoid the walk up the hill, advance tickets for this will soon be available for £7 plus booking fee. Tickets are limited to just 1000, so there is a likelihood that these will sell out.

I'm in a band. Can I perform?

No, sorry, you're too late. Please check out our performers page for details of how to apply for next year.

I applied to play before the deadline. When will I hear from you?

We're sending out letters now to those who haven't made the shortlist. All acts will be contacted before the end of May.

Can I come and trade?

No, sorry, you're too late. Please check out our traders page for details of how to apply for next year.

Can I camp?

There is no camping at this event. If you want to find accommodation locally, we suggest you try Bristol Tourism's accommodation web page by clicking here.

Will the suspension bridge be closed?

The Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust has again decided to close the bridge for the whole of the festival weekend to cars, pedestrians and cyclists alike. Please check out our travel page - click here

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! Kids are welcome at the festival, those aged 14 or under get in for free and we have a kids area.

Can I bring my dog...

No!

...or should I leave him in the car?

NO! If you love your pet, leave it at home,

Is there disabled access?

Blue Badge holders can park for free in the privilege car park right next to the festival site. The festival is held on a sloping grassy field which is lumpy in places, and sometimes muddy. We wil be providing a raised viewing platform for wheelchair users and a disabled toilet. The Ashton Court estate is open to the public free of charge year-round, so you might want to visit the site whilst it's quiet and get a feel for it.

Can I bring food and drink?

Yes, as long as it's not in glass. Our licence conditions allow each festival-goer to bring in reasonable amounts of alcohol (up to 8 cans or 2 litres wine/beer or 1 litre of spirits) for their own consumption, but larger quantities of booze will be impounded. If you feel that that's not enough booze for your needs, don't worry - we'll have three bars on site.

-------------------------------------------

I know some of the Bristol spinners are performing and hopefully we might have a miss Roarfire in attendance. I'm thinking of maybe giving the VIP area a try out (https://www.ashtoncourtfestival.com/vip.html) unless any of the Bristol residents have a plan for a Saturday night get together???

Hopefully see some of you there!

sunny

Uhm, I might make it after all. No contractions yet, I was gonna b induced today but...the delivery ward is full so they said if I'm fine, I could wait till tomorrow! So, Ashton Court, here I come...! (Well, unless something starts before that...)

Ask a question and be a fool for a minute...don't ask and be a fool your whole life.

Yeay, I'm so glad I went to Ashton Court. Had a great time. Bit tired now, not really good as I have a big day today! Still no contractions though, so I'll be induced.

What I liked best? Laid Blak on mainstage was really good and they had this little girl (5y or so) who was just amazing! There was also a group of people dressed funnily and doing stuff with fire. They were not bad devil

Yes, it was a nice day!

Ask a question and be a fool for a minute...don't ask and be a fool your whole life.
