Hi all... I am a complete newbie to poi, fire twirling and anything/everything related. In fact, I'll only even see it in real life for the 1st time next Friday (making it down to the Moon Fest on north side of Brissie).

Anyway, this is me...

Name: Pat... but Pogo to those that know me well.

Location: Logan City, south of Brisbane, QLD, Oz.

Hometown: As above.

DOB: 17/09/1969

Age: 36 and counting...

Sex: Wouldn't that be nice?

Occupation(s): Computer Programmer. Worked for myself from home for 2 1/2 years, but have recently had to get a "real" job.

Favorite Food(s): Hmmm... pretty much anything, really.

Favorite Color(s): Green

Toys: Acoustic guitar, Classical guitar, 3 electric guitars, 2 djembes.

Hobbies other than the obvious: Music, Reading, Keeping fit (hmmm, not so much of the keeping fit, actually)

Education: Did Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science and Pure Maths. Then Grad Dip Appl Computing... then started a research masters, but gave it away when life got in the way.

Favorite Book(s): Have to get back to you on that one... The Anarchist was the last book I read, quite liked it.

Favorite Movie(s): Lots... Fight Club, Snatch, Lock Stock..., Finding Nemo, Pulp Fiction, Pay It Forward...

Favorite TV show(s): Don't watch tv.

Plans for life in general: (i.e. what you want to do when you grow up) I really... wish... I knew.

Favorite Music Artists/Composers: Lately... Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, JBT, Blue King Brown, Donavon Frankeneiter, Rob Sawyer, The Waifs... blues/roots stuff.

Favorie ice cream flavor(s): Vanilla.

Marmite, Vegemite, or Nutella? (please choose one...this is important as it is essentially this site's equivalent of stating your religion...we have religious wars, crusades, cathedrals to Nutella, all that.)

Definitely... vegemite.

actually... the DM I knew... I've read your profile and (oddly for me) I remembered you like dave matthews... and godsmack (that one surprised me) and... someone else who escapes me...

speaking of your profile... have I ever commented on your interest in edgar allen poe? I have ubblove'd his poems since I was a wee lad...

wink my contribution to your lovely dreams is my pleasure (sounds like it is, anyway... biggrin)... couple days now of deja-vu(ish) memories of dreams... no clear pictures, just a vague feeling... more sleep would turn deja-vu into reality, I reckon

ahhhh, that was love-ly, bek... hug

I know it's a bit of a tangent... but have you seen/heard the simpsons episode where they do 'the raven'?

james earl jones recites the poem thru the episode... is fabulous... or... have you seen the vincent price movie, 'the raven'? his voice is uber-creepy when he recites the poem... I have a thing for the raven, can you tell? tongue

I used to like the heavy, blood pumping stuff when I worked out... helped make me work harder... I still think that disturbed's 'down with the sickness' is the ultimate workout song... but I've not had much use for that in recent times... lazy pogo...

Yes to the other stuff...I used to be able to recite 'The Raven' from memory but..."Nevermore!" biggrin

I...umm...happen to wear a Celtic Raven pendant on a daily basis...can't find a crow and to me they're pretty much the same anyway...same magickal qualities of creation/destruction,
curiousity, inventiveness, outspokeness...

'Down with the Sickness' is a great tune! Have you heard the lounge version from the remake of 'Dawn of the Dead?'
It's hilarious!!!

My kids got their love of horror movies from me, I'd say!
Both of them would rather watch a good thriller than anything else!
I have "Dawn of the Dead." Too bad that I can't send the tune to you.
It really is a riot!!!

ubblol Paul I know that it can happen. I had custody of my niece and nephew for 10+ years. My 22 year old nephew asked me when I was going to grow up. I told him that I was about as grown up as I was going to get, he would just have to get use to it. He promptly threw me over his shoulder and jumped in the pool.
