Posted: Hey everyone, favour to ask. I am looking at buying a new computer soon. In the meantime, I have a truly ancient thing that I need to dispose of, however I do not just want to junk it.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe someplace that is looking for computers to be donated (it may be good for parts)? Or a place that recycles them?

Posted: take it appart and ebay off the parts. People pay rediculous prices for gear on ebay (I made 1000% profit on something i bought then sold again on the internet last month). Then if you wanna give the money to charity do so.

Posted: Thanks Flid, but the computer is that riduculously old that I don't think it would fetch anything, even in parts. It has the following exciting and useless features:
No CDrom drive No internet access (for those of you wondering how I access the internet, it is via my flatmates computer) Windows 3.1 with a very nifty version of Wordperfect
But the monitor is in good nick, so with some work it could probably be upgraded. The CPU itself would have to just be taken for parts (the tower casing only has a disk drive (and a real floppy disk drive for those who remember that)). The keyboard and the mouse are real base versions, but could be utilised still.
Ahhhh well we shall see. I found a bunch of people called ComputerBank who accept donations of computers, work on them, and donate them to schools, charities and low-income families. I am going to see if they would like it.
