Hey I know this is a thread that comes up every now and then, but since this community is getting so big, and people come and people go, I thought I would start it again...

So people.. how long have we all been on this glorious board for?

I think I worked out last night that I have been on HOP for about a year and 8 months or so...

On and off I should say, I only poke my head out occasionally these days, although now we have the net at home. I may be on here more often.

Love and Light

It would be cool if there was a "Registered" date underneath your name. This way it would be easy to figure out how long people have been members for. Also, there should be a FAQ section explaining how to make those cool poi that shoot sparkles.

What kind of music do you guys like to listen to?

How long have I been a member? Far too long. ubbloco

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

I first started writing on hop in early 2001 i was under the name
Auspoiboy.

I remember a quiz about 5 different sports with weird rules, and the winner got a pot of jam. I actually got sent a pot of jam for taking part in the quiz. It was amazingly cool.

Stopped writing for a while......but now i'm back, have been for the last month or so.

I don't care who you vote for

I first discovered HOP in May 2000 I believe it was, in the days when the board looked a lot less slick than it does now!

and i remember the outcry from certain quarters that we suddenly had to register before we could post (and the fact that it was those certain quarters that had necessitated the change in the first place)

yeah... I remember I almost gave up on HoP because of having to register. I only registered (very reluctantly) because cassandra twisted my arm... ubblol

You weren't the only one Vanize, every time the board went through a new incarnation a bunch of people threatened to, or really did, leave.

Don't forget though NYC, the one with dates of 2000 might actually be inaccurate because that is when the old board switched over from the always threaded model to this bb style.

Though, it does make me younger if I do go by that date! wink

Flash Fire Said:
"One thing I have also noted is that, as this community has grown so large, many of the once-massive personalities such as yourself (and me) have quietened down considerably."

What are you trying to say? That I'm large? Or maybe you just think I'm overbearing? Fine, I'll just take my big mouth and shut up! wink (JUST KIDDING) I don't know about you but I also got busier in my day to day. Those were some interesting days eh?
Oh how I miss the death threats! *rolleyes*

There is a greater turn over now though, which I think makes the board less intimate and more casual I think.

HEY NYC!.... LOOK IT UP! hug
