Ok people, what's your favourate film of all times? I only ask this cos I'm sat here bored out of my skull, listening to the top gun soundtrack.
So I'll go first, and I have to say top gun - it's such a classic, and full of typical 80's music.

i love saving private ryan, great war movie. another one is we were soldiers. mel gibson is great in that. i highly recommend it.

If i have time next cheap-movie day (co-insiding with a lovely holiday of mass consumerism and hallmark branding...in some circles known as singles awareness day but commonly known as valentines day)i might pick up those three...i watched mall rats the other day and just had an urge to watch all Jay and Silent Bob movies...

Not necessarily the best films but the films that have meant alot to me. I've noticed that I have a thing for films about outcasts (mostly female) with martyr complexes.
Though these days I prefer to watch TV series like Buffy, Angel Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica (The new one). For me I find that the sci-fi and fantasy genre is the best medium for exploring humanity, morality and civillisation in that it takes the whole addage that 'you don't what people are like until they been pushed to the limits' and with sci-fi and fantasy the possibilities are limitless...

All those people putting down Battle Royale should try get a copy of the book , The film is amazing the book is incredible it goes in to much more detail about the school kids in the book, and the story is a lot different to the film (the ending is 100% different) so you won't know what's going to happen next.
P.S you should ALLL watch House of 1000 corpses and The Devils Rejects both films made by Rob Zombie and are proper class

But then again my top films are odd.....
1. is Excalibur.. Swords and Sorcery.. you gotta love it
2. The Blues Brothers. I'm sorry but I've loved it since i first watched it in the 80's lol
From here it gets a touch muddly because i love so many so much but...
3. The Keep.... Very odd film with a soundtrack by Tangerine Dream, is there anyone else out there who's even heard of this film lol.
4. Nowhere... Utterly odd film and derided by many, but the art direction,, man theres some cool set peices in it,, again I'll bet there arent many whos heard of it but most that have will just say wheres the script lol I'll admit its a dire film,, but i like it hehehe
5. Can I say the LOTR Trilogy in one hit Again loved the books and glad they actually made a half decent job of the film.

Dear lord I bought that thinking it looked good (and to see what Bjorks acting was like), I couldnt watch more than 40 minutes of it, blair witch is low budget, this thing looks like its been filmed with a cordless webcam or something.

Stickmen is great....a moive thats just as good (if not better) is pool hall junkies...basically the same thing but its very cool with some funny as bits...such a drinking competition with a jug verses a shotglass and the jug winning...classic... (i've actually done that before...and the only reason i got away with it is cause the guy i was versing had a sence of humour...otherwise be wary the need to run away very very quickly)
