Hail, I've just recently joined after ordering some kevlar wick. After stopping by and reading a few introductions I have a good feel for the vibes. Lots of iry down to earth people, love and respect to you all.

I've been involved in various martial arts, and found myself more attracted to the actual forms than the prospect and possibility of using that knowledge to cause physical harm to others. The sounds of flame moving around my body and the warm caress it conveys as it passes by in various positions has me captivated. Just recently I've found this new passion and aim to hone it mostly in the areas of flame staves, but will keep an open mind and maybe even try picking up Flame Poi, as I have met quite a few people using it. Unfortunately, I am the only stave user I know. My style is unique from other flame spinners in that it is definitely more martial arts oriented, and involves quick grabs and fast contact nearer the flames than I have seen people on various websites attempt... Watching other people online is very difficult for me to learn new tricks and styles, and I've been kind of bumming that I don't have people around me that are more experienced and use to grow off eachothers ideas.

I currently view the world of fire spinning with vigor and a new-ness that a toddler sees thier relatively new world in. Poetry has been a major part of my life, more in the challenge of portraying my feelings in words that can captivate my readers, and the feeling of it all coming together to become a story or moral. Because of this, when I had the pleasure of viewing a fire performance I immediately saw the potential to express myself with movement and flame. As a child of the universe, I too will always remain a child of fire spinning. There will always be opportunities for me to accumilate new tricks, styles, and moves.

Little about myself besides that... I'm 19, attending Peninsula College until next year when I transfer to the Ultra-Heady-Hippie-Populated School, Evergreen college. Being happy, up, and iry are all part of my life /wink /wink. I find that my creativity is greatly influenced and my overall experience enhanced when spinning in a... er... better space of mind.

I'm stoked on the general vibes and feeling of community that the majority of fire spinners seem to emnate. Glad to join, don't know how active I will be on the forums but I will stop by, kind of hard to these days as I'm not on the computer much. Anyways... happy to join and look forward to getting to know this world I've chosen to surround myself in.

Honor, Peace, and ubblove !!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

I am wary of sane people >.<

Well, I'm definitely in to the fire spinning thing now, had a lot of requests to rage some parties, and although I don't really like massive amounts of people watching, I find I'm able to focus on my spinning and just be with the fire. Guess it's kind of like stage fright, but it doesn't effect my performances. I'm absolutely glad I found fire spinning, I've been having a lot of fun and meeting a lot of new people wink

People think I'm crazy to spin fire, I don't know why I wasn't accredited with it before I started spinning searing heat. I think swords are more dangerous, personally. Kind of hard to hurt myself spinning fire unless I'm being an idiot and not paying attention.. My only injury thus far was a 2 hour burn from the heated metal screws holding my kevlar into the staff >.<

Sorry for the delay in the response, just got really busy with moving, work, and performing. Hope you're all doing great ^.^ You equals good peopleses.
