I really never leave intros in forums but I figured that I would bore someone to death this time.

I got into toss juggling one day when a friend came over with a few balls and started showing me some stuff he could do. juggle Well, I laughed and made fun of him because I had no interest in any of it. I thought I might try it out to show him how easy it was. It was a lot harder than it seemed and was kind of cool to do. I know have an aprecitation for it.

One day while surfing the net for some toss juggling sites, I ran across contact juggling. That as something I never really heard nor did I even imagine people did. That intrigued me more than toss so I ended up getting into that pretty heavy for a bit. I met a few people in the forums which one of them did Poi. ubbloco

I just received my Poi start kit in the mail yesterday and have been trying some stuff out. I can do some basic spins and have the butterfly kinda ok but needs more work. I figured it has only been one day so I cant expect a lot.

I do have a question though in which I am sure I have to go to a doctor to get a professional answer but am curious if anyone on here may have experience with. When I do some spins with my left hand, you can hear some popping. I am not sure exactly what it is but there is no pain or anything involved. I just dont want to screw it up and am kind of aggrevated if this will prohibit me from doing Poi because I really want to do it. Anyways, I thought maybe that is something someone on here heard of or experiences.

Hope to talk to y'all soon. I'll be doing some videos once I stop slapping myself in the head with the balls. Haha!! My wife laughed so hard at me yesterday she liteally had tears running down her face. ubblol

I bought the starter kit with the fuzzy yellow balls. Haha!! Does not sound right. I am glad to have bought these since I smacked my face and another more sensitive area eek many of times. I eventually want to do Fire Poi and is the reason why I am learning. I am new to this so maybe something else will catch my eye along the way. I have to admit that I seen a cool glow stick video https://www.sorensensoftware.com/tamingfire/videos/TF-Brian-glow.mov
but can not see myself doing it. I like the thought of spinning fire. It seems so pure.

Hopefully I will be good enough to spin some fire poi for Halloween. I have not idea what the average progression is in poi. I may still be beating myself up ubbloco or I may have a lot of moves down by then. I guess we will see. I did notice something though. I have a hard time doing two different directions or different movements with my right and left hand. Kind of reminds me when I tired to play on the drums. I guess it all comes with practice.

Oh Brit_Joe. I knew someone was going to make a comment on my friend showing me what he can do with his balls. haha!! I left myself open for that one. ubblol

See ya

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
