tension? what we need, then, is to appreciate, share & give ourselves & eachother props for what's so wonderful about us here. happy tribes are not built on problem-solving and court trials alone.

what do you love?

give us a REAL answer, please.

so we have a thread celebrating Home of Poi's serious good points, good stuff, and good people as we live it now!

with all my love,

I love Punk Rock (and by that I mean real punk rock, where people have real thoughts and ideas, sometimes even intellegent and cohearant. The punk rock where people stand up and fight for the things that they believe in and who they are. Not the homoginized, bubble gum, teeny bopper, cellophane wrapped, prepackaged crap that the radio and MTV tries to pass of as punk.)

I love Bourbon Whiskey (spicificly the kind made by Jim Beam, the kind that burns like liquid Drain-o going down)

I love the smell of kerosine in the morning, it's what heaven must smell like.

I love a big fat juicey steak merinated in whiskey, garlic and worcestershire, with a side of beer.

I love sitting outside drinking a cold, dry martini on a hot day.

I love that beatiful brilliant bastard that invented lager.

I love driving through the mountains on days like today.

I love music and the way it can make me feel completely relaxed and drive me to violence all in the same moment.

I love watching The Young Ones, if there is something funnier than seeing someone get hit over the head with a cricket bat I've never seen it.

I love cheezy horror movies like Bride of Reanimator, and Return of the Redneck Zombies.

I love people who are honest about who they are and that never ever change themselves to suit anyone else or to gain affections.

and I love watching violent thunder storms, getting soaked like a spunge while the lightning strikes all around you, sitting in complete awe of the fury of mother nature.

Oh, and about the HOP, I love that the people are mostly open minded, and easy going (unless, of course, you are talking to Mr. Phule about politics, or Miss Cassandra about suicide bombing )

That's one fine post FireMike.

I love the fact that HOP exists, and is full of such genuine, warm and wonderful people. Grateful recognition to Malcolm, and his merry moderators.

I admire the way that people contribute freely with advice, and help people when they are down.

I think the occasional argument or difference of opinion is the sign of a healthy community. I know I've had to re-think my opinions more than a few times.

Seriously, what tension? What ill-spiritedness? I honestly have noticed more people referring to this than any sort of actual wrong attitude on this board.

It's not like it hangs around very long anyway if it doesn't turn people on, if you see a thread going negative, don't add your 2p, 'cos you'll only bump it up to the top.

I think this board is great. I'm in love with all of the women and the guys have really made me feel that I'm not alone in not being an aggressive, shallow c*nt like so many 'men' in this world are.

The diversity here is great, and the creativity and spirituality that shines in some of the posts is often encouraging.

oh I enjoy the technical poi discussion too.

Magnus... pay it forward

I heard it said somewhere that reading books is like getting to see the thoughts that have been thought by other people and commited to print so you don't have to go through as much effort to arrive at the same conclusions or your own.

With that in mind I love that I get other people's insights, emotions and logic on so many different topics. This place is like a thought compendium (complete with both irritating bullshit, wonderful humour and at times amazing logic).

Well here goes me, as I was asked so nicely and I can't be lazy all my life .....

* I love the fact that as soon as I joined I was made to feel welcome and supported straight away by you guys

* I love that I can be open, honest and true to myself here. That for the most part even when there is a difference of opinion, there is still so much respect for each other flowing in every post. And also that I have learned much about myself from the times when others here have challenged my perceptions, and made me more aware of my own personal filters and judgements.

* I love the fact that I have been encouraged again and again to become more of myself through reading some beautifully inspiring, thought provoking threads here. Although I don't always jump in on them they mean a lot nevertheless, so thank you all for sharing so willingly.

* I love it that I can stick everyone's messenger address into my liddle computer and have random chats with sooooo many lovely folks, who have no idea who the hell I am, but are so happy to chat away anyhow I'll never be bored in cyberspace ever again!!!!!!!! Yipppeeee.

* I've met some great people from this site, and I LOVE that it brings people together from all over... that it gives us the opportunity to spin together out there in the world, (which is great!!!) and also to come to know so many different people who we can't spin with in da true flesh. We is always spinning together in spirit innit. We are one HUGE floating, spaced out (some more than others ) cyber family where everyone has something to offer, be it crepes, candy, cookies or just a hug exactly when it's needed most

* I also love the humour and diversity here...

~hears a windy echo of all sentient sentiments drifting down-thread... like magikal chimes in the wind... the fathoms of collective intention pool into the healing waters of unified truth~

2) The fact that everyone welcomes you and makes you feel truely loved, and supports you through hard times in your life

3) The fact that eveyone accepts random people like me!

4) Oh and loads of other stuff i cant think of at this particular moment of time

I love several things about HoP:

1.) It's really helped me overcome my naivete and ignorance , being able to talk with ppl from different places, of different origins and with different beliefs. I never got much cultural exposure before I found this wonderful place.

2.) Fire Dancing in general has made me much more confident and sexy and I owe HoP a debt of gratitude for that as well.

3.) Can we give a HUGE shout-out to the "Meet Others" function?? Because of it I now have several friends in Chicago and, with their help, I am starting my own professional fire troupe! Friendship, money, fame, business experience... HoP essentially made it all possible.

4.) HoP has also made me much more humble, realizing that maybe the skills I was so proud of at one time can be improved upon

5.) It gives me a nice website to check whenever I'm bored sitting in the computer labs for class, or in between my classes when I come back to my room.

Well, I guess I should stop now and leave some space for other appreciative board members

What hits the fan is not evenly distributed.

I love the idea that this is a multicultral site - we have input from most of the countries in the world (anyone from Zimbabwe by the way??)

I like the fact that we are all different..

I chastise myself for spending too much time in social and not enough in technical..

I love warm rain and cuddles.. horizontal dancin in the rain would be heaven - roll on Xmas - Xmas in Africa - I hope Santa sends me something nice in my stocking.. Being alone at Xmas sucks! Being alone at any time when you don't want to be sucks!

I love that a wonderous and beautiful art (and the internet, see it's not so evil after all) can bring people from ten's of thousands of miles apart and bind them into a family.
On that note I think that at some point it would be great if we could figure out a way to have a family reunion... although it would take quite a bit of planning and effort (sorry, spontaneous thought, a normal result for me after getting close to 2.5 hours of sleep this week).

I love FireMike for directing me to this post.

Everyone at HoP for being the neatest people that I have met in the world, and I love that fact that eveyone here is neat (this previous statement has been brought to by the Committee for Stating the Obvious) the concentration of neat people gathering at one focal point staggers the mind. I wish I were as neat as everyone else here. Especially Bender love those eyes man... and DFQ for weirding me out... and FireMike for being open and cool... and Jello for sharing a Douglas Adams moment with me.

I wouldn't know... I've never given a cartoon character an orgasm.

And that there is always people here that will become friends with you, never has anyone made an enemy on this board. There are those that dislike each other but never actual hate that you would have towards an enemy. Oh yes, and the graemlins

I love the culture that this website has. Everyone is so friendly and we try to help eachother out in whatever way we can. I also love how we tell eachother not to do anything (too) stupid, like whenever anybody starts a post on fire breathing, you usually get about three or four replies in the first ten that say "DON'T DO IT" "IT WILL F*** YOU UP" or "YOU WILL GET HURT".
I also love how we can teach and learn from eachother from accross the world (the net isn't just used for Star Trek and porn) Like I said it's the culture this site has, we laugh, learn, teach, create and show off all together!

A wise man once said to me, Hey! You! Get out of my wardrobe! and in a way, I guess he was right.

* I love that this site brings so many beautiful people together. Not only to communicate on the net, but to teach each other on a soul level..I have met so many enlightened people who have taught me selflessly, because of this site.

* I love that everyone here is ready to share their opinions so openly and honestly without fear of retribution, It helps us all to grow so much when we share our energy.

* I love the fact that there are ppl like FireMike who are willing to give out such positive vibrations to others and who encrouage the sharing of love by reaching out to others.

* I love the fact that I still hit myself in the face when Im trying to master the BTB weave, and can bitch and moan about it on here.

* I love cheese

* I love Marmite

* Most of all I love the fact that this site bought my soul mate to me. That I can now understand the depths that love can truely reach and how much beauty that has bought into my life...Thank you Arsn.

I love the formation of friendships whether they be close or far that this site helps along.
