Figure I'd sign up and check the forums and stuff out.
I've seen and read about poi on some other boards, and the ladies there keep making it sound so fun. Gotta try it one of these days.
Still in the looking mode right now, but will eventually buy a starter set. Any suggestions?
Normally I can be found making chainmail (which can be seen at my site), or playing various computer/console games. Getting started in this hobby might actually get me to *gasp* go outside!

Easiest starter set's a pair of knee length (prefereably stripy..
) girls' socks with balls in them (tennis, or rice filled balloons etc..).Actually, remember reading Enchantress13's intro a while back.. she's into chainmail too:

Got my beginner set last week. I've got the butterfly down, but haven't had a chance to really learn anything else.
Have yet to actually go outside to practice, and my apartment is a bit lacking in space. Plus my cats looooove the tails on the poi so they kind of hinder the learning experience... (Though, it's highly entertaining to watch them chase and jump after the tails.)

Yup, Moatis has been outside. Introduced me to POI and I've ordered my first kit. Can't wait to get it and start playing.
