Whatsup everyone, my name's Jessica, I'm from San Francisco.
I'm very interested in learning staff and poi. I was in colorguard in high school for 4 years twirling flags, wooden rifles, chain flags, trick sticks and the like......I haven't practiced in awhile, but I'm sure once I started practicing again I could get the hang of it......
I'm just wondering if anyone here would think that the transistion from flags to fire would be a little difficult, or fairly easy? I'm planning on maybe taking a poi class someday, but do you guys think that my experience with twirling will be an advantage?

y0! congratulations, because i anti-hate you!! heart heart heart

one of my best friends started staff after doing colour gaurd, but her parents wont let her use fire while she still lives in their house, so i guess i can't really advise you there, but she's fount the moves transfer over remarkably well

Hiya... wave wave wave
Play with non lit fire poi and see how you find it. Play with sick poi..play.....rediscover all those fabulous moves and learn new ones and enjoy.

Fire is fabulous, but I must be getting old as the smell of the fuel just gives me a headache now.

Yo, welcome to HoP.

Just did a random search on 'colorguard' and... you're top of the list!

Just found out this thing existed today, and blatantly the whole flag-waving thing is excellent (flagz rulz).

Now I just gotta make myself a 5 1/2' long one...
