I really can't find any use for TTN, it just looks like a butterfly!

Unless I'm going to wrap on my arms or twist myself up or something, I just dont see the need.

see floor/ceiling plane thread. it only looks like a butterfly down the axis, and only if you're trying not to seperate your hands. was that supposed to be at all sarcastic? you can bend back and look up into the TTN or duck your head and make it look like a corkscrew. TTN is also more noticable BTB and windmill plane.

how are you going to butterfly weave in either direction continuously without TTN? you CAN just keep the same hand on top, i guess, but Why??

can you butterfly weave behind your head in windmill plane? that's like 2 good uses for TTN at once.

Did you see the winky face?

Very nice reply btw. smile

I think your right, having now considered things more carefuly. TTN is an excelent 'base' move because it gives you loads of possibilities.

BUT I think you can use it especially well for dancing. You can punch like hell - it makes you feel like Rocky! biggrin

I am a fan of TTN especially when it is being done so that those watching can see it from the side. I agree that it does not look that impressive when you are seeing head on though. I am not a technical spinner by any means, I just do what I think looks good.

The butterfly is the opposite direction equivalent of standing there spinning at your sides really - it's just that you tend to do opp. direction stuff in the front wall plane rather than having each poi in a different wheel plane.

TTN is like the weave - a fundamental move which builds into a vast range of various ways of spinning.

and you can do all the reel stuff with butterflies, and you can do all the weave stuff by breaking up ttn's.. sometimes spinning at your sides isn't that bad wink
