So here I am again. It's been a while hasn't it. My alto sax initially got a lot of use. Funny isn't it, how a fulltime job takes away all your spare time. Haven't had any time to poi too, apart from Jugglejam on Mondays and the monthly Moonfests. And even then, it somehow seems I tend to play with the stockwhip instead of poi shrug

Another lens has been added to the stable too. A Canon EF-S 10-22 3.5-4.5.. nice and wiide. But it all boils back down to that time issue. Despite having the new lens, I seem to find I'm out taking less pictures.. the folio hasn't been updated in a while, and I'm starting to get the horrible feeling I'm stagnating. Must. Get out of this rut.

If you're my muse and reading this, inspiration needed now. hug

-Edited 14 Dec 2005-

I liken this to opening the fridge to find that jar of misc what's it, several months expired ubblol. Hey how's it going? wave

So what's new! Well.. poi's getting a bit better for one thing. Nice how after poi-ing for a while, you stop hitting yourself senseless. In fact, one might argue how after a certain point, each hit puts more sense into you.. wink Haven't gone skating or rockclimbing in a bit, but that's ok- life's full of wonderful distractions, and really, you can only do a couple at a time.

University's just wrapped up! Yep. A degree in art & visual culture, television & digital media.. Just waiting for a piece of paper at the moment (yay!). And trying to sort out how Australia will let me live here forever and ever biggrin. Have I mentioned how wonderful it is, you so ought to visit *nudge* wink Also been getting out the with photography and stuff- a couple of projects to follow up on, blue skies and puffy clouds as far as I can see.

Updates updates. [insert geek] I've updated my camera gear too.. my 20D, 17-85 4-5.6 IS and 580EX now have a 70-200 2.8L IS to play with.. soon too, riding on getting a particular gig, either a 350D and a 24-105 f4 IS, or another 20D.. -grin- [/end geek]

[edit 14/12/05: Gig didn't go through, and ended up performing at it instead of shooting it ubblol Life has a funny way of messing you about doesn't it.. so no 2nd body for me just yet, or nice 24-105 f4 IS redface]

Been taking lots of photos lately. I think there's something intrinsically beautiful in capturing moments- you know how you look at a photo and it brings you back to where you were that day, who you were with, how the air smelt even.. Maybe one day I'll get to exhibit ubblove.. but yeah.. lots of work to be done meantime.

Hmmmm.. yes the world's beautiful today. It's good to have new toys, new moves, new direction.. old friends hug.. a best friend hug2, and enough distractions not to get bored for too long.

Btw.. favourite words haven't changed.. ubbrollsmile And mm.. I'm still not too close to balletic, and dulcet..

Hmm.. la la la laaa squawk.. footinmouth

[edit 14/12/05: I now have a beautiful alto saxophone- the best use of which I have thus far found, is to attract ducks and other misc waterfowl]

Yep, how about we say still aspiring. biggrin

Hope all's well with everyone- don't be strangers now! hug biggrin

I've been exploring this site a bit lately, and have decided everyone seems like a nice bunch- thought it's about time I said hello. Ryan, 24, born in Singapore, but Brisbane Australia has been home to me for the past 3 years.

I love photography, playing the guitar (if one took a picture of me with my guitar, it looks like I'm playing it- does that count?), getting from point A to B on my trusty mountain bike, inline skating and hockey, occasionally rockclimbing, and just being in good company. I'd also like to add poiing to the list when I stop hitting myself senseless.

Irrelevantly, my two favourite words (I've got heaps if anyone's interested) are 'balletic' and 'dulcet'. 'Balletic', unfortunately, isn't a word I'd use to describe anything I can do, and 'dulcet' is a word I haven't dreamt of aspiring towards yet.

Enough for now, don't be strangers! biggrin

So mm.. graduation's over! Pink and black.. wasn't so bad. Well, technically it was fuschia and black ubblol

Fi: Was pretty fun. A bit nerve wracking though.. you know. With the whole when to doff, when to shake hand, when to take parchment, where to look, is my robe falling off, don't trip, don't trip, don't trip.. Other than that, it was pretty interesting. Not something I'd want to do every day though ubblol

Lynne: Stunningly gorgeous is one look I probably will never achieve.. Was a pretty good day overall I guess. Not fantabulous. Went to watch Syriana after the graduation, and though it was a watchable movie, the schmeehee behind me kept pressing his foot into the back of my seat, while the 2 girls to my right decided to discuss something in the middle of the film, to the point I needed to tell them to keep it down mad2. How's recovering from the birthday celebrations? hug

Kristy: Thanks! But, what exactly is man pink? Or do I not want to know? confused

Lou: mmm! Got photographs taken by the official photographer, so we'll have to wait and see how those turn out. I did ask the girl next to me to help me just hold the camera (movie mode) to get a shot of me and move it around to show the crowd.. she somehow couldn't get the idea and just panned it around the room at the crowd (*slap forehead!*) which I could have done myself. I couldn't be bothered to explain the concept to her.. clearly I was graduating with a cohort of geniuses ubblol Though. I probably say this unfairly. The girl on my left had a gpa of 6.2 (on a 7 point scale) That roughly is averaging distinctions and high distinctions over 24 units eek.

Thanks muchly, and gah! no never the same as a pink shirt!! ubblol hug

Sam: mmm thanks dude! I think I need pics too. Well. Maybe. Really wasn't too sure about the robe.. felt a bit uncomfortable- am a bit afraid it might show in the pic redface All is well pretty much- how are things with you?

Kris: Hmmmmm. Yes. And no. In that order. ubblol What are you doing searching for men wearing pink on underwear sites anyway?? umm ubblol

Sam: I had a couple of 15 minutes gigs back to back once, and I had no idea 15 minutes could possibly last that long.. I'd say 4 minutes would be just about right.. Lasts as long as a song and til fuel runs out biggrin What show was it and what did you do?

Brett: mmmm.. I heard! Pity the log cabin's not there anymore frown. Envious because yesterday here was spent fixing gita's computer, which is still acting up (I loathe VIA chipsets..), and practically nothing else at all.. shrug Hope the storms clear for a wonderful tomorrow sunny.. smile

Why hallo there ma'am! Seems I've missed you by just a bit. Just got back from juggle and am knackered. Had a chrysanthemum tea and a soya bean fruit box and both were excellent. Disappeared much too quickly though. ubbangel

Anything new on eBee? ubblove

3rd year for me, strangely was a bit more relaxing than the other years. You know.. being familiar with how the system works, it's a bit less like being a newbie walking in blindly. It'll be ok don't you worry hug

Job prospects.. nothing on the horizon at the moment. Checking the ads first thing every day and I'm hoping to be the first to catch something good.. ubbangel (In the meantime, would anyone like to hire a photographer?)

Yup. All's well and good. It's one of those evenings that if you kept reasonably quiet, you can hear the wet outside ubblove.. I'll sleep well tonight.. hug

I'm not too familiar with The ST-E2, but yes it does work with the 580EX. So says Yahoo wink
https://tinyurl.com/llcj7

It's a bit of second tier investment though.. you'd probably need two external flashes to effectively utilise one of them. With one flash, you could use the popup (RTF) to trigger the external flash as a slave to get similar results as a wireless transmitter with one flash? I'd probably spend the money on a lens first.. The EF-S 17-55 2.8 I'm dreaming of already..

Nah not much of a papper. I find it very intrusive and I don't think a photographer's money should come from how bad he can make his subject look. I'm already dabbling in part-time professional photography with a decent portfolio of jobs ranging from event to promotional, with the odd calendar and newspaper publishing too.

I'm currently eyeing a job at the Queensland Art Gallery, but it's work in progress at the moment. Will need to talk to a few people and see how that goes. I'll always entertain prospective photo jobs though.. you know.. first love ubbangel
